Computer Gaming World ha annunciato nel suo ultimo numero dell'anno le novità che potremo ammirare nell'espansione di DooM 3, recentissimo e acclamato FPS sviluppato da id Software. In cantiere negli studi di Nerve Software, DooM 3: Resurrection of Evil conterrà 11 nuovi livelli, 4 nuovi mostri, tre nuove armi (tra cui si registra il ritorno dell'amato fucile a canne mozze di DooM 2) e quattro mappe multiplayer che supporteranno fino a otto giocatori contemporaneamente. Tra gli equipaggiamenti inoltre il giocatore avrà a disposizione una gravity gun (Half-Life 2 vi dice nulla?) e una tuta (anche questa retaggio dei precedenti capitoli della saga) con la quale passare indenni attraverso le zone contaminate.


Se quindi non avete ancora finito DooM 3 mettetevi di impegno, perchè presto nuove e truculente sfide vi attenderanno...

You play as a Combat Engineer, not the Doom 3 Marine, and travel to Site 1, an abandoned base which is the first UAC Mars expedition, and contains remains of an ancient Martian civilization (looks like Quake 1), to investigate a distress signal. Later you also travel to Phobos via sky trams. You are to accompany a scientist called Dr Elizabeth McNeil, former associate of Betruger, and keep an eye on her. Betruger has turned into a demon and called three 'Hunter' demons to reclaim the artifact. These demons are bosses and you battle them separately for their special powers, including 'Helltime'. In the end, you battle Betruger in Hell. You first find the double barreled shotgun in Sarge's old office, and the Grabber later in Site 1. There is also eight person multiplayer, and also the Haste and Invulnerability powerups. :gun:

Ecco le caratteristiche dell'espansione by doom3maps.de :

New Characters:

Vulgars - The same as Imps only faster and they do a lot more wall crawling.

Bruisers - Half mecahnical monsters with computer monitors for there mouth, they have a tendency to hide as wall monitors and then bust through the walls after you.

The Forgotten - Same as the Lost Souls in Classic Doom

Hell Hunters - Like Floating legless HellKnights, these monsters have the ability to warp time.

New Weapons/Items:

The Double Barreled Shotgun - Goes Boom.

The Grabber - Gravity Gun.

The Artifact - Allows the player to manipulate time by slowing the world down, also increases damage and makes you invincible.

Environment suits - They will have flashlights mounted on them.

New MultiPlayer Features:

Four new MP maps - Two are in Hell, one in the ancient civilization, then another base type map. It was also mentioned that the Maps will be considerably larger than DOOM 3's.

8 Player limit.

buono, ho sempre ritenuto molto utile il poter disporre dei powerups e attivarli nel momento che si ritiene migliore

Aspetto con ansia! ^_^ Forse tra un paio di settimane mi assemblerò il pc nuovo e potrò finalmente giocare a D3, speriamo bene!

Al momento mi sono dovuto accontentare di fare qualche partitella al deathmatch di Unreal Tournament!
