Gameplay

Dragon Core – During battle, players can eat a dragon using the Devour Skill. Once the dragon is eaten, you obtain its Dragon Core—a skill tree that grants characters new skills and bonuses. The Dragon Core is a unique system that allows players to explore 126 possible Dragon Core combinations! Whenever you select the dragon to devour, there is a success rate percentage of devouring. Weaken the enemy to increase your chances! Be sure to use different party members, because each Dragon Core devoured will only be available to the party member who successfully devoured the enemy.

Giant Boss Battle – Prepare yourself against a giant dragon battle where dragons take up all three tiers! Focus attacks on specific body parts to disable the body part’s attacks and even temporarily knock out bosses to change the tide of battle!

Characters

Karikaro (designed by Kei Nanameda) – A no-nonsense witch who has a ditzy side. It’s often difficult to tell if she’s acting out of logic or haste. She is afraid death is quickly approaching due to her passing the average age of the elder witches. She loves to cook, but her unique cooking style can produce… interesting results.

Laponette (designed by Katsuyuki Hirano) – She’s graceful but always looks melancholic. She holds the magical power of clairvoyance and can see the sad future of those she touches so she hates her power. She does not want to be involved with people that she does not trust. She is especially intimidated by men.

Charlotta (designed by Tsunako) – A mysterious witch who claims to be a terrible witch of legend. According to her, she is the one behind the massacre known as the Carnival of Death in which she took the lives of 100 witches a decade ago.

Compile Heart has updated the official website for Azur Lane: Crosswave with screenshots of newly announced playable characters Shimakaze and Suruga, as well as previously announced playable characters Akagi and Portland , and the enemy AI-only character Purifier.

The website also added the official box art for the Japanese standard and limited editions. As previously announced, the limited edition includes an original design box, art book, puchi drama and mini soundtrack CD, and special-make chibi figure of Shimakaze.

Azur Lane: Crosswave is due out for PlayStation 4 in Japan on August 29.

Maximum three-versus-three battles. Support characters also participate in battle with backup skills. Huge small fry characters further enliven the battle. (Battle difficulty and settings can be changed from the “System” menu.)

You can also scout allies using the A-Points you have accumulated, allowing you to freely battle with characters other than Shimakaze and Suruga.

Dragon Star Varnir will launch for PlayStation 4 on June 11 in North America and June 14 in Europe, publisher Idea Factory International announced.

A new trailer introduces the game’s aerial, turn-based combat. The battlefield is split into three layers: the Top, Middle, and Bottom Levels. You can move about freely between the levels to battle enemies, and there are even some giant enemies that take up all three tiers at once.

A new batch of screenshots features the little sisters and feeding system. The young witches that make up the little sisters depend on you to give them dragon meat or blood obtained during your exploration. If you starve them, they go mad. If you overfeed them, they turn into a dragon. Players can choose to keep them alive or sacrifice them to obtain rare items.

Story

In a world where the bones of an ancient beast tower over the land…

The Knight Zephy is part of an order whose role is to hunt down witches—people seen as cursed beings for giving birth to dragons.

When he is almost killed on one of these missions, two mysterious witches save him from the brink of death by feeding him dragon blood.

Granted new magic abilities by their efforts, he soon finds his fate intertwined with the witches and reluctantly joins them to fight against an Empire out to destroy his kind, ruthless dragon hunters, and a witch more powerful than any in existence.

Can they fight all this and save themselves, or will his new allies succumb to the dragon’s curse…?

Elixirs

At the Witches’ Workshop, you can throw dragon parts, such as claws, skin, bone, eyes, and livers, you’ve obtained through battle in a big pot and stew it to make an elixir that will summon a special dragon! When you defeat the dragon, you will obtain rare equipment unattainable anywhere else!

Gifts

Charm your favorite witch with a gift from the heart! In the Witch’s Room, you can gift items to the witches that you’ve obtained from dungeons and shops. Each witch has their own personal preference, so if you give the right witch the right present, their affinity level will go up. If their affinity gets to a certain level, a special event will occur!

Madness Level

The moment that madness takes over a witch, a cruel fate of despair awaits them! Throughout the game, players will be able to make decisions that impact the insanity levels of the witches. The decisions made can impact what ending you receive, so choose wisely!

Characters

Durandol – The ace of the Ravens. He is said to have killed over ten thousand dragons and is considered to be a heroic dragon warrior. He has no interests in witches and just finds it fun to kill dragons. He loves to fight and will freely take on even his own subordinates if he pleases.

Jaiga – A dragon warrior that kisses up to Durandol and Ruby Eye. He isn’t to be trusted and would sell out his comrades the moment it would benefit him.

Darne – A traveling merchant and informant. He will trade you things like dragon claws or fangs for information or goods. He also sells ingredients at high prices on the black market. Since he doesn’t want to lose his valued witch clients, he keeps information about their den a secret.

The Switch version of 3D dungeon crawler RPG Mary Skelter 2 is coming to North America and Europe via the Nintendo eShop, publisher Idea Factory International announced. It will also include the first game, Mary Skelter: Nightmares, with revamped systems and balances. It will feature English and Japanese audio, and English subtitles. A release window was not announced.

Mary Skelter 2 first launched for PlayStation 4 in Japan in July 2018, and also includes the Mary Skelter: Nightmares. A Switch version was announced for Japan in March, but has yet to be released.

Idea Factory International did not announce plans to localize the PlayStation 4 version.

Once his heart rate reaches a certain limit, he will turn into Ripper Jack, causing him to go berserk. When in Ripper Jack mode, Otsuu also risks going into Blood Skelter mode, which will cause her to go berserk too! With first game, Mary Skelter: Nightmares included, you can play through an alternate world where Jack is the main protagonist.
  
• Go Directly to Jail – Add another degree of difficulty by setting dungeon conditions like “no saves or heals” with the Jail Trial battle system. Successfully completing a Jail Trial provides better item drops and more experience! Want more special bonuses to help you through dungeons? By collecting Jail Pieces, players can add these items to a randomized roulette that can have beneficial results!
  
• Farm for Blood, Reap The Benefits – Use Blood Crystals to plant Blood Flowers, which can be harvested for additional items. In a dungeon area where Blood Flowers are planted, splash them with Marchen Blood by performing a critical hit on enemies during battle to get even rarer items!
