Compile heart loves teasing new games in all kinds of ways, and that’s exactly what they just did with a new teaser video and website.
The video is a “let’s play” of a “completely new RPG” with the usual retro style, but at the end it reveals that it’s a fake:

“This video is fiction. Information on the real new RPG will be revealed on Weekly Famitsu’s issue released on June 29th.”

This means that we have a week to wait in order to learn about this new JRPG, or six days, to be more precise, since Famitsu normally releases in digital form at midnight Japan time between Wednesday on Thursday.

No more information or hint on platform, title or release date has been provided, so we’re all in the dark. There’s a possibility that we’ll know something between Monday or Thursday, since Famitsu often leaks ahead of time.

The latest game teased by the Japanese publisher was Tokyo Clanpool for PS Vita, which followed Genkai Tokki Castle Panzers for PS4. It’ll be interesting to be what the next one will be, considering how prolific Compile Heart is being this year.

You can check out the video below.

Info sul prossimo progetto il 29 giugno.:icebad::icebad:

Compile Heart announces Death end re;Quest for PS4

The latest entry in the Galapagos RPG brand.
Death-End-Re-Quest-Ann-PS4-Scan_06-27-17.jpg

Following a teaser website last week, Compile Heart has announced Death end re;Quest for PlayStation 4, an “RPG where game and reality intersect,” in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu.

Death end re;Quest is the latest entry in Compile Heart’s Galapagos RPG brand of titles, which includes Fairy Fencer F, Omega Quintet, and Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force.

The game’s staff includes:

Scenario: Makoto Kedouin

Character Designer: Kei Nanameda*

Monster Designers: Yuji Kaida, Kia Asamiya

Summons Beast Designer: Junya Ishigaki

Sound: Yuki Sugiura, Kaigi Gesshoku

Guest Character Designer: Huke

Concept Adviser: Ichirou Kusaka

Further information has yet to leak from the magazine.

Update 6:50 a.m.: The game tasks players with clearing a bugged game world from the perspectives of both game and reality. Many mysteries will intertwine, including intentional bugs, NPCs that possess hearts, and characters who cannot exist.

The protagonist, a programmer named Shin Mizunashi, receives an e-mail from Shiina Ninomiya, who has been missing for the past year. In order to save Shiina from “World Odyssey,” a virtual reality MMORPG that ceased development and from which she cannot log out, Shin takes action.

Battles are turn-based command battles. You can evade attacks and perform counterattacks, and there is also a knock back system to blow back enemies. It is also possible to install game systems from reality to add genres to the battle and increase your strategies. There is also an element where staying in the game too long causes your body to be contaminated by bugs and your style to change, and becoming over-contaminated leads to death.

Update 7:50 a.m.: Release date and price are currently to be announced.

Death end re;Quest is a new RPG from Compile heart themed around the concept of “bugs.” Players will clear a bugged game world from the perspectives of both “game” and “reality.”

Story

The protagonist, a game programmer named Shin Mizunashi, receives an e-mail from Shiina Ninomiya, a game director who went missing one year ago.

From this e-mail, Shin learns that Shiina is trapped and cannot logout from the virtual reality MMORPG “World Odyssey,” which should have ceased development, and takes action in order to save her.

Shiina was the sole player in the World Odyssey full of bugs.

Together with NPCs that possess hearts and real colleagues, you will move forward both “inside” and “outside” of the game.

System

Turn-based Command Battles – Characters can act freely within a specific range of movement when their turn comes around.

Knock Back System – A system to blow back enemies you attack. If enemies iht other enemies when being blown back, they’ll be dealt even more damage, and their positioning will change to give you an edge in battle.

Install Genre System – By installing games from the reality, you can add genres to the battle.

Gridge Style – By taking action in a world full of bugs, characters’ bodies and minds will gradually become contaminated. When that level of contamination reaches a certain amount, the character’s form will change to “Gridge Style” and they’ll gain tremendous attack power.

Field – Because you’re in a world full of bugs, there will be mechanics like “invisible floors” and “pass-through walls” in the dungeons. Depending on the field and character, you can also use “Bug Actions” useful for exploration, such as discovering rare items and hidden passages.

Comment from Producer Norihisa Kochiwa

“As a game developer, bugs are a challenge, but when faced with bugs as a player, the fun and fear that occurs by chance may result in unexpected enjoyment. This game cleverly brings out those feelings, and is being developed as a title that will offer a new experience.”

Staff

Producer: Norihisa Kochiwa (Neptunia series, Agarest series, Fairy Fencer F)

Director: Youhei Satou

Scenario: Makoto Kedouin (Corpse Party)

Character Designer: Kei Nanameda (Mary Skelter Nightmares, Trillion: God of Destruction)

Monster Designers: Yuji Kaida (Gundam series, Ultra series), Kia Asamiya (Silent Mobius, Kamen Rider Fourze)

Summons Beast Designer: Junya Ishigaki (Gundam series, Xenogears, Macross F)

Theme Song and Sound: Kaigi Gesshoku

Sound: Yuki Sugiura (Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online, Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds)

Guest Character Designer: Huke (Black Rock Shooter)

Concept Adviser: Ichirou Kusaka (Final Request)

Development is currently 51 percent complete.

Info

Death end re;Quest is an RPG where players will aim to clear a bugged game world from the perspectives of both “game” and “reality.” It is a game of strong suspense and inevitable despair where many mysteries will intertwine, such as “bugs with will,” “NPCs with human hearts,” “characters that should not exist,” and “mysterious urban legends.”
The story begins when the protagonist, Shin Mizunashi, receives an e-mail from a woman named Shiina Ninomiya, who went missing one year prior to the events of the game. Through this e-mail, Shin learns that Shiina is trapped inside and cannot log out of a virtual reality MMORPG called “World’s Odyssey,” which was supposed to have ceased development, and takes action in order to rescue her.

The game’s staff includes:

:asd:

■ Story
World

“World’s Odyssey” is a virtual reality MMORPG and complete projection of consciousness developed as a traditional fantasy of dreams and adventure. It was a large-scale RPG that the game company Enigma poured all of its energy into, but cancelled development on after the disappearance of game director Shina Ninomiya.

Several years later, “World’s Odyssey,” which was supposed to have been deleted from the network, is restored in a state eroded with every possible “bug.” These bugs, which take on the form of actual insects, are infesting humans, objects, monsters, and every possible material, and collapsing the game world. Bugs have produced a number of mysterious phenomena, transforming the world into one filled with various mysteries and madness such as “bugs with their own will,” “NPCs with human hearts,” and “characters who cannot exist.”

Death-End-re-Quest_07-19-17_001.jpg

Story

An e-mail arrived for game programmer Arata Mizunashi. The sender: Shina Ninomiya, a game director who went missing a year prior. She, together with Arata, once developed “World’s Odyssey,” a game that fully implemented virtual reality, but after she disappeared, development on the game was cancelled.

The cryptic e-mail indicated that Shina Ninomiya disappeared in World’s Odyssey, a game that does not exist. Arata tries to analyze the program, which should have been deleted from the network, but was restored. The program has been rewritten to the point that it has no trace of its original form, and in a world full of bugs, Shina was there as the only “player.”

Arata tries to get in touch with Shina and learns that she cannot logout from this game.

And so the two look for clues, and alongside NPCs that possess human hearts and their colleagues in reality, proceed with clearing the game from both the “inside” and “outside.”

However, a dreadful situation also involving reality awaits.
