Haruhisa Nakata's Levius Sci-fi Boxing Manga Gets Anime Series This Winter

Netflix announced on Friday that it is producing a 3D CG anime series adaptation of Haruhisa Nakata's science-fiction boxing manga Levius. The anime will premiere worldwide this winter, and Netflix is streaming a teaser promotional video:

Cybernetically augmented fighters turn their blood into steam and their bodies into brutal fighting— and killing—machines. Young Levius is one of those arena battlers, hell-bent on winning in order to simply survive.




The manga was serialized in Shogakukan's Monthly IKKI from its February 2013 to November 2014 issues, then from Shueisha's Ultra Jump with a new title Levius/est since its May 2015 issue. Three tankobon volumes were published from Shogakukan, then five volumes have been released by Shueisha.

An English edition is licensed by Simon & Schuster, and its first volume is set to be released on September 17, 2019.

Netflix revealed a new trailer and visual for the 3D CG anime series of Haruhisa Nakata's science-fiction boxing manga Levius on Wednesday. The trailer announces the anime's November 28 worldwide debut date exclusively on Netflix, and previews the anime's theme song "wit and love" by singer Nazome, who is making her professional debut with this song. Netflix is streaming English and Japanese versions of the trailer.
