The first season premiered on April 6.

Yoshiaki Iwasaki (Love Hina, Hayate the Combat Butler, Last Period: the journey to the end of the despair) directed the anime at Studio Silver and Arvo Animation. Go Zappa (A Bridge to the Starry Skies, Beatless, Myself; Yourself) was in charge of series composition. Masakatsu Sasaki (Saki, Seiyu's Life!, A-Channel) designed the characters. Additionally, Satoshi Motoyama (WorldEnd, Oreimo) was the sound director at Magic Capsule, and Masato Nakayama (You and Me., My Little Monster) composed the music.

The manga's story centers on Yuiga, a student who is aiming for a scholarship because he comes from a poor family. His school gives him a condition: he can have a recommendation for a scholarship if he tutors his two beautiful classmates to help them get into the schools of their choice. Ogata may be a science genius and Furuhashi a literature prodigy — but Ogata is aiming for a liberal arts school and Furuhashi is aiming for a science school. And they're both clueless outside their fields of expertise.

We Never Learn: BOKUBEN Gets 2nd Video Anime Bundled With Manga's 16th Volume

This year's 45th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced on Monday that that an original video anime (OVA) for the We Never Learn: BOKUBEN will be bundled with the 16th volume of Taishi Tsutsui's We Never Learn (Bokutachi wa Benkyō ga Dekinai) manga when the volume ships on April 3, 2020.

We Never Learn: BOKUBEN Franchise Has 'Important Announcement' at Jump Festa '20 Event

The second 2020 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine teased on Monday that Taishi Tsutsui's We Never Learn (Boku-tachi wa Benkyō ga Dekinai) manga franchise will have an "important announcement" at the Jump Festa '20 event. The event will be held from December 21-22, and the "important announcement" will be during a presentation at the Weekly Shonen Jump booth at the event on December 22 at 3:30 p.m. JST. Voice actresses Lynn, Miyu Tomita, and Sayumi Suzushiro will have a talk show during the presentation.

We Never Learn: BOKUBEN Anime's 2nd OVA Reveals New Illustration

A stage presentation at the Jump Festa '20 event on Sunday revealed a new illustration for the second OVA inspired by Taishi Tsutsui's We Never Learn (Boku-tachi wa Benkyō ga Dekinai) manga.

Weekly Shonen Jump had teased that the franchise would have "important news" at the Jump Festa '20 event. Voice actresses Lynn, Miyu Tomita, and Sayumi Suzushiro appeared during the presentation. The event also revealed another visual for the second OVA featuring the female characters in wedding dresses in a car with Yuiga driving while wearing a white tux. Additionally, the franchise will have another event on March 1.

The second OVA will ship with the 16th volume of the manga on April 3, 2020. The anime will be 25 minutes long and will feature all five main female leads in a wedding ceremony in an original story. Tsutsui is providing supervision for the OVA. The bundle will also include a specially drawn manga, and a "precious memories" illustration card by Tsutsui.
