Azur Lane Bisoku Zenshin Anime Reveals Short Format, January TV Premiere, Staff, Cast

An official Twitter account for the television anime adaptation of Hori's Azur Lane Bisoku Zenshin! four-panel manga opened on Sunday to announce that the series of anime shorts will premiere in January.





Masato Jinbo (Chaos;Child) is directing the anime, and Yū Satō (Kiratto Pri☆Chan) is writing the scripts. Yostar Pictures is producing the work along with studio CANDY BOX. Yokohama Animation Lab is credited with production cooperation. Hiromitsu Hagiwara (Nozo × Kimi) is the character designer, and Hagiwara and Kengo Saitō (SSSS.Gridman) are the chief animation directors. SHADE (Miru Tights) is composing the music. Emi Nitta is performing one of the theme songs "Longing for!," and Yui Sakakibara is performing another theme song titled "Mahiru-iro Siesta" (Midday-colored Siesta).

Azur Lane Bisoku Zenshin Anime Shorts' Promo Video Reveals January 11 Debut

The official website for the short television anime of Hori's Azur Lane Bisoku Zenshin! four-panel manga began streaming a promotional video for the anime on Tuesday. The video previews "Longing for!," one of the anime's theme songs by Emi Nitta, and also reveals the anime's January 11 premiere date on Tokyo MX and BS11. (It will premiere on AT-X on January 13.)

Girls' Frontline Game Gets 2021 Animation by Warner Bros. Japan

Sunborn Network announced on Friday that it and Warner Bros. Japan are producing an animated adaptation of Sunborn Network's Girls' Frontline smartphone game. The show is set to premiere this year.

To celebrate the anime's announcement, Duoyuanjun, one of the artists in the original game, drew new illustrations for the characters in the game's Antirain (AR) Team (in order below): M4A1, M16A1, ST AR-15, and M4 SOPMOD II.

The game's story is set in an alternate timeline near-future Earth in the 2060s. The aftermath of a military accident that resulted in widespread disease, as well as the recent conclusion of careless nuclear war, has massively depopulated the planet, rendered much of the surface uninhabitable, and reduced once-great nations to shadows of their former selves. Androids used for labor and combat have become an important facet of life, and easily replicable and disposable androids known as Tactical Dolls (T-Dolls) are used by private military companies in the frontlines of numerous brushfire wars. In the game, the player takes the role of a fresh commander in a PMC, commanding T-Dolls to fight against a new AI threat.

Mica Team, a Chinese dōjin game circle, founded Sunborn Network, and launched Girls' Frontline in mainland China in May 2016. An English version launched in May 2018, and a Japanese version launched in August 2018 under the title Dolls' Frontline. Sunborn Network is currently developing a Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium sequel, as well as Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery, a remake of Mica Team's earlier Codename: Bakery Girl game, set in the same universe as Girls' Frontline.
 
Girls' Frontline TV Anime's 1st Promo Video Reveals Main Cast, Global Streaming

Warner Bros. Japan revealed a trailer on Thursday for the television anime adaptation of Sunborn Network's Girls' Frontline smartphone game. The trailer reveals that the anime will stream globally this year.

Seven Knights Revolution TV Anime's Video Reveals flumpool's Opening Song, April 4 Debut

The official website for Seven Knights Revolution: Eiyū no Keishōsha (The Hero's Successor), the television anime of Netmarble's Seven Knights smartphone RPG, posted a short version of the anime's opening sequence without credits on Monday. The video reveals and previews the opening theme song "Freeze" by flumpool, and it also reveals the April 4 premiere.

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX, BS11, and Kyoto TV on April 4 at 12:00 a.m. (effectively, April 5). The series will then air on Sun TV.

Kazuya Ichikawa (Monster Strike the Animation, The World Ends with You the Animation) is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS and Domerica. Ukyō Kodachi (Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files: Rail Zeppelin Grace note series composition, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga's storywriter) is overseeing the series scripts, Arisa Matsuura (Clean Freak! Aoyama kun) is the character designer, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa (The Eccentric Family, Love Live! School idol project) is composing the music. Seven Knights Revolution is credited with the original work.

In the anime's story, there were once many heroes who saved the world from Destruction. Time has since passed, and young men and women who have the title of "Successor" awaken powers from the heroes of old, and are entrusted with the fate of the world. The "Seven Knights" are a group of top Successors. Among the Seven Knights is a young woman named Faria, who is fighting against the troops of Destruction. In the midst of this battle, she saves a young man named Nemo. Nemo then awakens the power of a Successor, but no one knows of the hero whose powers he has inherited.

The game launched for iOS and Android devices in Japan in 2016. Netmarble has also released the smartphone game in English. The company describes the story:

Netmarble released a Nintendo Switch game in the franchise titled Seven Knights -Time Wanderer- (Seven Knights: Jikū no Tabibito) in English and Japanese on November 5. Netmarble has released a Seven Knights II smartphone game in South Korea. Netmarble is working on a new game in the franchise titled Seven Knights Revolution that will launch this year.

The official website for Seven Knights Revolution: Eiyū no Keishōsha (The Hero's Successor), the television anime of Netmarble's Seven Knights smartphone RPG, revealed on Saturday that voice actor Daiki Yamashita will perform the ending theme song "Tail" for the show. The song will mark Yamashita's full debut as a singing artist.

Honkai Impact 3rd Game's Cooking With Valkyries Spinoff Anime's Sequel Premieres in Japan on July 18

The official Twitter account for miHoYo's smartphone 3D action game Honkai Impact 3rd (Hōkai 3rd in Japanese), announced on Thursday that Cooking With Valkyries (Ikusa-Otome no Shokutaku), the 2019 animated short spinoff, is getting a sequel that will premiere in Japan on BS NTV on July 18 at 12:30 a.m. JST (effectively, July 19). Cooking With Valkyries II will also stream on GyaO! and the game's official YouTube channel.

The game's official Japanese YouTube channel began streaming a promotional video for the anime in September.

The spinoff series features the valkyries from the game in an original story. The series' Japanese cast includes:



Naoko Takeichi (episode director for Girls' Last Tour, Utawarerumono: The False Faces) and Meng Sun (key animation for Attack on Titan, Run with the Wind) returned to direct the animated series at miHoYoAnime.

The first 10-episode series debuted on Chinese streaming platform bilibili in June 2019. The first series premiered in Japan in July 2020. The second 8-episodes series debuted in China in July 2020.
 
Azur Lane Queen's Orders Manga Gets Animated Footage

The "Azur Lane 4th Anniversary Live Stream" announced on Sunday that Tsuchii's Azur Lane Queen's Orders manga is getting "animated footage." The announcement did not specify the format, length, or production studio for the animated footage.

The "slapstick daily-life story" centers around the tsundere character Queen Elizabeth and her school friend Warspite (the "Grand Old Lady"). Tsuchii launched this manga spinoff of Shanghai Manjuu and Xiamen Yongshi's Azur Lane smartphone game in the December 2018 issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Rex magazine on October 26, 2018. Ichijinsha published the fourth compiled book volume on August 26.

In the original game for iOS and Android devices, players collect early 20th century warships from various countries and use fleets of six ships to battle enemies. Shanghai Manjuu and Xiamen Yongshi developed the game, and bilibili released it in China in May 2017. Shanghai Yostar released the game in Japan in September 2017. Yostar released an English version of the game in May 2019.
