—The soft-mannered Matthias invites Lydie and Soeur out for cake. However, to Lydie and Soeur, he is a suspicious person they do not know very well.
—In battle, Matthias’ excellent sword skills act as support for his comrades.
■ An Encounter with a Mysterious Painting
Lydie and Soeur want to run the best atelier in the country. But in contrast to those ambitions, they pass each day troubled about their daily lives. Then one day, as they were synthesizing, they heard a voice from the basement. While feeling strange about it, the girls went down to the basement, which their father told them to “never enter by any means.”
In the basement, they came across a mysterious painting. And before they knew it, the two were pulled into the world depicted in the painting. At first, Lydie and Soeur were perplexed, but then overcame with great excitement over the world of the painting before them. While searching for a way back home, the two immediately began exploring.
■ Synthesis and Activatation Items
Atelier Lydie & Soeur uses the same synthesis system as previous Mysterious sub-series games, where ingredients are inserted into a panel. This section will provide a look at how players can create items using intuitive controls.
1. Insert catalysts to get bonuses!
Decide which item you want to create and select the ingredients to put in. At this time, by first putting in an ingredient that will become the catalyst, special squares that have a bonus effect will appear on the panel.
2. Put your ingredients in the panel!
Put your ingredients in the panel. Various effects will appear by putting the ingredients in the bonus squares that pop up as a result of using a catalyst.
3. Use Activation Items!
At any time during synthesis, you can use an Activation Item. By using an Activation Item, you can significantly change the effects and characteristics of the item being synthesized.
4. Choose a special characteristic!
Your item will be completed once everything has been chosen. If there is a special characteristic, the synthesis will be completed once you choose the special characteristic to be inherited by the item.
■ Exploring the Worlds of Mysterious Paintings
A cavern world covered in ice shining with a crystal-like radiance. There are many ice-related materials and monsters here.
By collecting materials in the worlds of paintings, you can gather ingredients for synthesis. You can come up with recipes for synthesis through various actions, including material gathering, battle, and exploration.
