The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals Conception Plus: Ore no Kodomo wo Undekure! for PlayStation 4. The game is a remaster of the original PSP release with enhanced graphical quality and additional new elements.

Weekly Famitsu’s online preview does not actually reveal the title of the game—it only teases that it is a remaster of a previously released Spike Chunsoft RPG. However, Sony’s Tokyo Game Show 2018 website has already listed the game and confirmed its title.

Following its announcement and debut trailer last week, Spike Chunsoft has released new information and screenshots of Conception Plus: Ore no Kodomo wo Undekure!, detailing its story and characters Itsuki Yuge and Mahiru Konatsuki.

Itsuki Yuge is a young man who lost his parents at a young age. He lives with his cousin and classmate Mahiru Konatsuki while leading a student life. One day, Mahiru suddenly calls for Itsuki to come to the school rooftop. When he arrived to the rooftop where Mahiru was waiting, Mahiru hit him with a shocking confession.

“I seem to have gotten pregnant…”

Immediately following, a gate of light appeared from the sky and engulfed them. When they came to, a strange world called “Granvania” was spread out before them…

In this magical world of Granvania where they were summoned, Itsuki is treated as a savior called “God’s Gift.” Currently, Granvania is on the verge of crisis in the face of the “impurities” covering the world due to the “disturbance of the stars.” The king demands the perplexed Itsuki. Purify the impurities covering the world. And raise children with the “12 Star Maidens” in order to do so. Only God’s Gift, who came from another world, and the “Star Children” between God’s Gift and the Star Maidens will be able to destroy the impurities. In order to return to his original world, and to save this world, Itsuki must ask the 12 Star Maidens.

The protagonist of this game. Upon receiving a shocking confession form his childhood friend and cousin Mahiru, he is summoned to the magical world of Granvania. As “God’s Gift” to purify the impurities of this world, he must venture through labyrinths together with the Star Children born between himself and the 12 Star Maidens.

Go into Dungeons with Star Children

Itsuki Yuge was summoned as the “God’s Gift” to save the magical world of Granvania on the verge of crisis. In order to save the world, Itsuki and the Star Children must survive the Stardust Labyrinths and cleanse the world of its impurities.

The 12 Star Maidens

The more your bonds deepen as you communicate with the Star Maidens, the greater the power your Star Children are born with, so be sure to communicate and get familiar with the Star Maidens. Busy Battles with 13 Party Members

In addition to the protagonist Itsuki, your party can consist of three teams of four Star Children for a total of 13 party members. The game uses a command selection-style battle system where positioning plays a key role. Gain the upper hand in battle by attacking from a position where you can target the enemy’s back or weak point.

Love Ceremony

Itsuki and the 12 Star Maidens can participate in a “Love Ceremony” in which they pour their souls into a “Matryoshka” to produce a Star Child. The Star Child’s power will vary depending on the strength of your bond with the Star Maiden and the type of Matryoshka used. Also, the Star Child’s stat trends will differ depending on the Star Maiden, so you should consider the class you need for your current party when choosing a partner for your Love Ceremony.

New Feature Addition

Adds a “New Game+” mode after clearing the game. It is possible to carry over the following data from your clear data:

Feature Improvements

• When a character with full possession slots tries to pick up an additional item, the next character will now automatically pick it up.
  
• Items can now be transferred between party and reserve members with the press of a button.
  
• Cooldown time will no longer occur for characters who do not participate in cooperative attack.
  
• The system menu now displays the character’s age.
  
• You can now acquire the Trophy (Stage 01 Clear) that you could not have acquired by importing save data from the demo by re-watching the corresponding event in “Album” mode.
  

Balance Adjustments

• Adjusted the overall strength of enemies.
  
• Reduced damage when crashing into a wall due to an enemy’s attack.
  
• Reduced score consumption when selecting “Return to Base” or when the party is defeated.
  
• Adjusted the number of days until boss creatures reappear in cleared ruins by half.
  
• During breaks, you can exchange stamina to reduce the level of Clione corrosion (does not apply when in “DANGER”).
  
• Reduced the level of Clione corrosion when going to sleep in the bedroom (does not apply when in “DANGER”).
  
• The “Pet Bottle” island now pops up often on Gareki Island.
  
• Reduced load times for some events.
  
• Other bug fixes and adjustments.

Conception Plus: Ore no Kodomo wo Undekure! will launch for PlayStation 4 on January 31, 2019 in Japan for 5,980 yen (without tax), publisher Spike Chunsoft announced.

Pre-orders for the physical edition will include the 28-track CD “Original Soundtrack: Rebirth,” which features background music from the game, the short version of the opening theme song, the long version of the ending theme song, and more.

Additionally, a Digital Deluxe Edition including a swimsuit costume set for every Star Maiden will also be available for 8,618 yen (7,980 yen plus tax).

Pre-orders for the standard digital or Digital Deluxe editions will also include a 10 percent discount, which reduces the standard edition price from 6,458 yen (tax included) to 5,812 yen, and the Digital Deluxe edition from 8,618 yen to 7,756 yen.

L'elemento più interessante è il cambio di carattere di Mahiru, che era troppo aggressiva e scortese nei confronti del protagonista, e la cosa non la rendeva sufficientemente waifuosa al giapponese medio... Dopotutto, perché avere una ragazza un po' diversa dal solito in un gioco, quando puoi averla perfettamente identica a tutte le altre? No? Mah.

Deepen Your Bonds Through Communication with the Star Maidens

To take on the Stardust Labyrinth and install the Star Seals—that is the role of God’s Gift (the protagonist). To fulfill his role, he needs the help of Star Children with the power to fight. And to produce even stronger Star Children, it is important to proactively communicate and deepen your bonds with the 12 Star Maidens that act as Love Ceremony partners and. The deeper your bonds, the stronger the initial abilities of the Star Children you produce, and you can even raise their maximum level.

In conversing with the Star Maidens, you will have many opportunities to choose a response. The result will have a big effect on their mood and bond, so consider their personality and standpoint before choosing your response. Also, depending on the flow of the conversation, “Touch Communication” where you can touch the Star Maiden’s body will occur.

Eliminate Enemies with Consecutive Attacks

By attacking impurities with consecutive attacks in battle, you can activate a “chain” or “overchain.” A chain significantly delays the turn order of a single target impurity, creating the chance for party members to attack in a row. An overchain is an expanded version of a chain, affecting the turn order of all impurities in battle. Attacks on chain state impurities become combos, and the damage dealt increases for each combo attack. Additionally, you will get an experience points and KP (Kizuna Points) bonus based on the combo number when the battle ends.

Mahiru Konatsuki’s Change

In the PSP version of Conception, Mahiru Konatsuki was very ill-tempered towards Itsuki, and some said that “she didn’t appear too much like a main heroine.” In the PlayStation 4 version, Mahiru’s behavior has been changed to be more friendly and charming.

• I made the decision to leave Square Enix, and in our various discussions regarding duties and position hand-offs, the fate of Final Fantasy XV‘s downloadable content was decided.
  
• Personally, ceasing the development of Final Fantasy XV‘s downloadable content was a disappointment. I am truly sorry to all the people who were looking forward to it.
  
• In response to CyberConnect2 president Hiroshi Matsuyama—who said, “As a fan of Final Fantasy XV, I really wanted Tabatis to see it through before leaving the company”: I wasn’t able to finish it, but I do feel like I did everything I could.
  
• Deciding to leave the company was ultimately an issue of my motivation. I want to go in my own direction and do what I want without annoying anyone or the company.
  
• I am disappointed that I was not able to release all of the Final Fantasy XV downloadable content myself and am truly sorry. But there is no relationship between that and my leaving the company.
  
• I didn’t get into a fight with Square Enix, I left on good terms.
  

JP Games, Inc.

• There are several people working at the newly established JP Games. We’re still looking for an office.
  
• We haven’t received any outside investments; we’re currently self-funded.
  
• At first, I wondered if it would be possible to make a triple-A game as an independent company.
  
• We’re still adding team members, but I think we’re going to settle with a small number of staff.
  
• I’m thinking about several games I want to make, but I can’t say what they are right now.
  
• As for platforms, I want to do multiplatform development across consoles, PC, and smartphones.
  
• During Final Fantasy XV, I really wanted to change the way we were developing. When it got busy, the workload exploded, so we never had enough staff. At times like that, we would get a bunch of people in studios in places like Vietnam or Malaysia to develop, but it was difficult to scale up in a flexible way. I had to prepare high-spec PCs, create all the security policies, etc. That was all a pain, so I’m changing the way we do things—like to be cloud-based, for example. Before we make a game, I want to evolve the way we develop it.
  
• I want us to be able to make large-scale game at some point. But I don’t think we’re going to hire a ton of developers in one place. It’ll basically be developed virtually.

The Serpent Star Maiden. A girl who trains the Star Children in the day care. She has a straightforward and kind personality, and dislikes bad things. Since she has a passionate sense of duty, she tends be tough when it comes to guiding the Star Children.

She herself is actually a Star Child born 30 years prior to the events of the game. A test subject of the “Star Child to Shrine Maiden Transformation Project” going on at that time, she gained the power to become the Serpent Star Maiden, and has thus grown while still remaining a Star Child.

Arfie was born between the God’s Gift summoned to Granvania 30 years prior to the events of the game and a Shrine Maiden. She has a strong desire to protect the people of Granvania even now, and thus trains the Star Children at the day care.

While Arfie has the power to become the Serpent Star Maiden as a result of the project to turn a Star Child into a Shrine Maiden, it seems that her power is currently sealed due to a certain reason. In order to unlock that seal and become a Shrine Maiden, certain requirements must be met…

“Double Love Ceremonies” are Love Ceremonies performed with two Star Maidens that can produce even more powerful Star Children. However, in order to do this, you must deepen your bonds with the Star Maidens through communication and build up their Star Maiden power to a sufficient level.

Since Double Love Ceremonies favor Star Maidens with with higher stats for each parameter, if you chose a combination of Star Maidens that make up for the parameters each other lacks, you can produce a Star Child with overall high ability. The chances that twins will be born will also increase. Star Children with high ability also have the benefit of more easily transcending to a higher class.

■ Independent Star Children Help Develop the WorldStar Children have levels, and the stronger your bonds with a Star Maiden, the higher the maximum level of the Star Children produced with her will be. For that reason, the Star Children you first produce will quickly stop growing, and can be switched out as battle members. However, these Star Children can take on different roles. They can become “independent” and take part in various tasks, opening new facilities to further the development of the world. Independent Star Children can even sometimes provide you supply.

A database has been added where you can view 3D models and listen to the voices of the Star Maidens, Star Children, protagonist, and more, as well as re-watch cleared events at any time.

(5) Randomly Upload Star Children Online

By connecting online, the Star Children you raised can be randomly chosen and uploaded to the server at fixed times (their original data remains, so they will not suddenly disappear).

The Star Children uploaded to the server can be downloaded at random from a range based on the player’s level and automatically appear at the inn. You might even get a powerful Star Child. It should be noted that the “Matchmaking Communication” feature from the PSP version is not included in the PlayStation 4 version.

(6) Touch Communication Feature Removed Due to Various Circumstances

While there were plans to implement the “Touch Communication” feature that allows players to touch the Star Maidens’ bodies during conversation as it was in the PSP version, we are sorry to say it ultimately had to be removed due to various circumstances. We sincerely apologize to all those looking forward to it. We will continue to keep trying to get this implemented.

Dragon: Marked for Death per Switch è stato recensito da Famitsu con 7/8/8/8. Mi aspettavo di più.

Il gioco uscirà il 31 gennaio su eShop, ma il 26 marzo ne uscirà una versione fisica in America ed Europa.

Questa versione includerà tutti i personaggi e il dlc "Additional Quest". La prima tiratura includerà anche un altro dlc, lo "Striker Gear Pack".

Today Spike Chunsoft offered an update about the PC version of its JRPG Conception Plus: Maidens of the Twelve Stars.

While they announced a few days ago that the PS4 version would be censored, the PC version won’t be altered at all and will remain the same as the original Japanese release.

In case you missed it, the PS4 will be altered in the following way.

“During the Classmating rituals, the Star Maidens’ 3D models will appear as blue and purple (rather than flesh-colored) and will not have detailed facial features. The animation itself is identical.

This change does not affect gameplay and no other content has been modified.”

While it is a pity that the PS4 version is censored, at least those who want to play the game in its original form have a way to.

Conception Plus: Maidens of the Twelve Stars is a PS4 remake of Conception: Ore no Kodomo o Undekure!, which was launched in 2012 for PSP. While the original game was never released in the west, its 2013 sequel Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars did come to North America and Europe.

The western localization has been announced a few days ago at Anime Expo, and it’s coming on November 5, 2019.

It’s worth mentioning that the Japanese version itself had a feature removed from the PSP original due to “various circumstances.” While the specific reason has never been officially revealed, I’m positive many have taken a wild guess already.
