Mario arbitro:

Mike Tyson's Punch Out

Makoto Wada has said that Mario's appearance as the game's referee was never intended by the rest of the development team. He placed the character in the place of the referee without approval from higher up in the company, and when it came time for final testing, no one said anything about removing him and he was left in.

Donkey Kong Country 2

At Cranky's Video Game Heroes, there are three ranks that a player can reach if they collect enough DK coins. The characters that have each rank by default are Mario, Yoshi, and Link. In the corner, there is a trash can with a sign that says "No Hopers". Next to the trash can is Sonic the Hedgehog's speed shoes and Earthworm Jim's gun.

If Link plays the "Ballad of the Wind Fish" while in the presence of Marin, she will say, "Not very good... Eh? What? Did I say something? No, you're hearing things..."

Fungus Forest:

Banjo-Kazooie

Inside Banjo's house is a painting of Banjo & Kazooie walking through a forest. This is an image of a world that was originally intended to appear in the game; Fungus Forest. The level wasn't completed in time, so it was put into Donkey Kong 64.

Genesi :ohyess:

At first, the developers of the game weren't very interested in creating a sequel to The First Fear, but the change in hardware combined with the use of 3D polygons, which symbolized cutting-edge technology at the time, won them over. Plus, the developers felt that there were some unanswered mysteries regarding the future of the Clock Tower series. The developers were considering developing the game on the Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64, but ultimately chose the Sony PlayStation, which Hifumi Kono felt was the best option.

In 2016, an American livestreamer discovered that the boss of the Forbidden Woods, Kalle Demos, could be killed in one hit by pouring a bottle of the Forest Water found in the Forest Haven onto its exposed flower head, after a user in her chat jokingly suggested using the Forest Water to water the plant monster. While this trick was performed while playing the Wii U remaster, NintendoLife tested and confirmed that this secret exists in the original GameCube release.

Un boss finale per ogni occasione:

Joe & Mac

The final boss is actually changed depending on which console you have. In the Arcade, Genesis, Amiga, and NES versions, the final boss is a caveman-like monster with reptilian features. In the Gameboy version, it is a beating heart. In the SNES version, it is a devil-like monster.

Jojo reference, letteralmente :ooo:

In the game's opening scene, Barbarosa gives Teo his sword "Pluck" (mistranslated as "Prakk" in the English version). "Pluck" is a reference to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, when Bruford gives his "Luck & Pluck" sword to Jonathan Joestar.

Censura:

Castlevania: Dracula X

In the Japanese and Australian versions, when Richter Belmont takes damage his body flashes red, and when he dies he spurts blood.
In other versions of the game it was censored by recolouring the damage effects.

Dark Cloud was first released in Japan on December 14, 2000. It was localized in English and released in North America and Europe the following year and was touted by Sony as being 30% larger than the original Japanese release. The additional content included an updated battle system, extra weapons and monsters, improved AI, additional Duel battles, and a 100-floor post-game dungeon exclusive to the English-language release called the "Demon Shaft".

Parasite Eve

This game was made to be a sequel to the novel of the same name by Hideaki Sena.

Glitch:

Super C

There was a glitch where you can get killed by standing on the edge of a earthquake platform at a certain spot.

There is an unused rune in the game's code called the "Solitude Rune" which can only be obtained through the use of hacking or a cheat device. The rune will increase a weapon's attack power based on how many people are in your party: the fewer, the greater the increase. It was likely removed due to the extremely substantial boost to the attack stat that the rune can create.

Uno studio molto attento delle animazioni:

Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse

The game's designers when creating the sprite animations for Mickey had to design the levels to accommodate for the higher number of frames of animation and subsequent extra distance in Mickey's jump. When asked about the inspiration for the game's high-quality sprite animation, producer Emiko Yamamoto told Game Informer in 2013:

"For animation we studied the [Disney] films frame by frame and worked very hard to recreate it in the game. For example, with Mickey’s jump, we wanted to fully express his body movement so we added more frames of animation. As a result, his jump ended up being longer than a jump would be in a normal game, so we had to design the levels so that the distance of his jump worked."

According to Yamamoto, the developers aimed for these higher-quality animations in the first place because they valued making the world and characters feel alive and only realized they were capable of achieving this after creating supplementary animations like Mickey's idle and wavering animations:

"Actually this was something the main programmer and animator came up with. I recall them coming to me and showing me what they created (the idle animation and also the animation for when Mickey was wavering at the edge of a platform) and I was pleasantly surprised. I asked them “Oh, we can do something like this? Sure, let’s do it!” Making sure the world and characters feel alive was very important to the team."

When a party member dual wields two weapons, even though there is an animation of the weapon being used, the game only calculates damage based on the first weapon. This is fixed in later versions.

La nascita delle minimedaglie:

Dragon Quest IV

In a 1989 interview with the game's director/scenario writer Yuji Horii in the 11/89 edition of Famicon Tsuushin, he was asked where the idea for the mini medals, a recurring hidden collectible in the series first introduced in Dragon Warrior IV, came from? He responded:

"DQIV is a multi-chapter story, and you ultimately end up gathering eight party members together, so we thought adding a bunch of story items you had to collect on top of that would be too much, and annoying. But collecting things like “orbs” and “crests” is undoubtedly one of the appeals of Dragon Quest, so we wanted to give players something to collect."

"“Ah hah! Coins!” — that was our first idea, and small medals were originally “gold coins”. But that name was too easily confused with the coins at the casino. Then we remembered the idea we had for “small medals” for Dragon Quest III, 2 and that’s how they got their name. (laughs)"
