Almost a Sonic

NiGHTS into Dreams… was intended to be Sonic Team's next big project after their previous work on Sonic the Hedgehog. While it did do well enough to become the Sega Saturn's Killer App and received critical acclaim at the time, despite a massive marketing push, the mere fact that it was released on the Saturn (which was a massive flop outside of Japan), on top of steep competition from the likes of Super Mario 64 and Crash Bandicoot, amongst other games, meant the game never managed to reach the same heights that Sonic had. It still enjoys a dedicated cult following nevertheless.

Una PESSIMA idea

Final Fantasy IX is notorious for having one of the worst official strategy guides made for a video game at the time of its release. The reason why was because Squaresoft decided to host essential tips and secrets that players would want to seek out on its PlayOnline website in an effort to promote that, and forced Brady Games to accommodate for the change in the printed guide by directing readers to the website. Brady Games were against the idea because they knew their consumer base would not like it and understood that buying a strategy guide was worthless when the information they needed was online for free. However, they complied because they did not want to lose the exclusivity rights to making a strategy guide for Final Fantasy X. In the end, Squaresoft abandoned this cross-platform strategy guide format following the negative reception from Final Fantasy IX's guide and stuck with printing physical strategy guides for future games.

In 2021, a secret display mode for the PlayStation 2 version of the game was discovered that involves first setting the standard video output to 480p (through the "Progressive Scan Mode" option), and then starting a new game with the profile name "PSONE". Doing this will cause the game to lower the standard output from 480p to 240p and disable texture filtering, making it more closely resemble a PlayStation game. For unknown reasons, this mode is referred to as "Christian Slater mode" in the source code.

Gloria was going to be a fully-fledged character. According to Bingo Morihashi, he begged to be included in the game, to which they humored him. She was going to be one of the antagonists, but due to a number of problems, she was simply modified to be Trish in disguise.

I vs II

Vandal Hearts II. Some find the game a step down from its predecessor due to its rather clunky new battle system, lack of a clear class system, and lack of the highly praised CG sequences and narration. Others, however, find the game a massive upgrade from Vandal Hearts I thanks to its greatly expanded story (the first game only lasts about 15 hours, while II can last over 40), its greater focus on character development and world building, and its generally great attention to detail (the equipment a character is wearing changes how their sprite looks, some maps feature different enemies and treasure depending on the time of day, etc).

Considerazioni: Ottimo per liberarsi in pochissimo tempo di più nemici. Vi basterà aspettare che qualcuno si avvicini alla porta, per poi sfondarla e uccidere istantaneamente chi si cela dietro di essa.

At the end of the section 4 area in the Japanese version, the player has to jump from the high ledge and then land safely on a short ladder at the bottom. Due to the intense difficulty of doing this (pointed out by complaints from the U.S. Staff of the game) the English release adds extra platforms and ladders so the player can get down safely.
