According to game's producer Akira Ushizawa in a 1998 interview published in volume 122 of Gamest magazine, he stated that the team originally designed the game hoping it would make it to home consoles because they did not think it would be played very widely in arcades.

Always an SMT
The battles in Revelations: The Demon Slayer are the typical text-based style. Like in all other Megaten games, the player can summon demons (up to 100), and fuse them, getting more powerful variants.

Not an SMT in the Beginning
The game was originally intended to be released simply as Devil Summoner. However, Atlus marketing requested "Shin Megami Tensei" be added to increase recognition.

Gackt era ovunque
Il character design di Bujingai è di Toshihiro Kawamoto, mentre gli scenari di gioco sono realizzati da Yōsuke Kuroda. Il personaggio di Lau Wong è basato sul cantante giapponese Gackt Camui, che appare nello spot del gioco

Sai un bel remake del primo SMT non sarebbe male, non l'ho mai giocato ma ne lessi la trama e mi piacque parecchio, infinitamente meno all'acqua di rose rispetto al V

Mi sono avvicinato alla serie col IV grazie alla mia compagna, lei ha giocato anche il 3 remastered ed entrambi ovviamente il V. Il IV mi piacque un botto, adoro il post apocalittico, purtroppo nel V questa cosa viene meno e abbiamo solo una dimensione alternativa, al contrario, informandomi sui primi capitoli lessi di Thor e del plotwist del primo, mi piacerebbe giocarli ma ovviamente quelli originali oggi sono un po' troppo

Neither game has ever gotten a digital version, and worse, they were among the few original Xbox games to never be made backwards compatible with the 360.

The most common criticism for the Dreamcast version of the game was that there were too many random encounters. In the GameCube version the random encounters were scaled down to answer the problem.

Accent
At the 2017 Emerald City Comic Con during a panel with American voice actor John DiMaggio, he explained that he was told to make Wakka's voice sound like an islander, with an island accent. At the time, he broke up with his girlfriend from Hawaii, so he came up with some Hawaiian impersonations which landed him the role of Wakka.
