Because the game's lore states that the characters are competing on an animated television show ("Toon T.V."), death has no real penalty. Whenever a player's vehicle is destroyed, the cartoon simply runs away in a panic before being quickly redeployed.

In the level Wild Nile Ride, there is a secret message hidden under the floor before the second checkpoint. It spells "TATTA" alongside the Vicarious Visions logo and a smiley face, which was impossible to see without hacking the game's graphics but was documented in the Prima Official Strategy Guide.

Alien Soldier

Treasure president Masato Maegawa and Alien Soldier director Hideyuki Suganami had big ideas in mind for the potential of the game's bosses, with two ideas being thrown around to add a boss with 100 or even 1000 transformations, or a boss with 100 moving/multi-jointed parts. Neither of these ideas were added due to time constraints, but Maegawa still took pride in this early idea for motivating them to further develop the multi-jointed sprite animations in the final game.

Two iconic Contra games were released for the original Nintendo Game Boy: Operation C (1991) and Contra: The Alien Wars (1994). Both games required major creative and technical adaptations to work on the handheld's smaller, monochrome screen and limited hardware.

Some never before seen concept art for the game was released on February 13th, 2015 about 15 years after the game's original release. Some of the more interesting concepts include Jill Valentine as the protagonist instead of Claire Redfield and the Ashford family (known as the Krueger family during this point) being Nazis.

Many of the samurai are futuristic puns on the original 1954 film. For example, "Cue" is a pun on Kyuzo, and "Eight" is a nod to Heihachi.

Mega Man 2

There is a noticeable difference in music tempo and gameplay speed between the European version of Mega Man 2 and the North American version (the EU version being around 83.3% of the US versions speed.) This is due to conversion issues that occurred during the games localisation from 60Hz (US Standard) to 50Hz (EU Standard). Strangely, Mega Man himself isn't slowed down, making some parts of the game (such as the Metal Man conveyor belts) easier in the EU version of the game.

Most of the Adult Swim voice cast returned to reprise their roles, with one major exception. Because Stephen Colbert was unavailable to voice Phil Ken Sebben and Myron Reducto, Stephen Stanton and Crispin Freeman stepped in to play them.

Killer Instinct 2

There were plans to include a vampire character in Killer Instinct 2, however the idea was eventually scrapped. The vampire's stage theme, "Bloodlust", however, was salvaged and made into the theme of Count Batula in Conker's Bad Fur Day.

A vampire character wouldn't be added to the Killer Instinct series until 2016, with the release of Killer Instinct's season 3 character Mira.
