New Reactor Feature: “Drone” Explore

The Reactor is a device furnished with multiple capabilities. A new feature has been installed into that Reactor. That is the “Drone” feature. With Drone, you can freely explore the field with a remote, flying probe. When you start it up, the protagonist’s location will stay as is, and you can explore distant locations and surprise monsters. Make full use of your upgraded Reactor to freely explore the world!

The Great Tree of Life (second page, top left) floats in the center of the world. It is said the hero can commune with the soul of the Great Tree.

The magazine has a number of PlayStation 4 vs. 3DS comparison screenshots, including of the protagonist’s home village of Ishi in the middle of the second page. It’s a small and quiet village located in the valley.

There’s a look at the battle system on the lower right of the second page. The PlayStation 4 version sees both the party and the series’ familiar monsters fully realized. The 3DS version shows both the party and monsters in 3D mode, and just the monsters in 2D mode.

Ho notato che quello che viene mostrato nello schermo superiore del 3DS c'entra praticamente niente con quello mostrato nello schermo inferiore. I due luoghi, in 2D e 3D sono talmente diversi da sembrare quasi irriconoscibili. Onestamente, non ne capisco molto senso, perché non farli uguali?

Whether it’s on the field or in battle, your partner Nocchorin is of great importance. Lift the veil on his hidden, true power.

■ The Three Things You Can Request from Nocchorin

Nocchorin is is an exceedingly encouraging partner who stands behind the protagonist at all times. You can make three requests to Nocchorin that will help you on your adventure. Since each request is useful to your adventure, don’t hesitate to ask of Nocchorin when you’re in trouble and need to borrow his power.

—When you make a request of Nocchorin, you can talk to him directly or touch the icon on the bottom left of the bottom screen.

(1) I want a shortcut!

Have Nocchorin progress the story instead of the protagonist. This is pleasant support for those who have played the previous game, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3.

—Whether it’s to before the boss battle of the area you’re in, or to clear the area, you can advance the story in any way that you like.

(2) Scout for me!

Nocchorin can take the place of the protagonist and scout monsters. When scouting tough monsters, Nocchorin will occasionally fail, but since you can him to do it any number of times, feel free to call out to him during your adventure. There may even be monsters that only Nocchorin can befriend.


(3) Gather items for me!

In addition to scouting, you can also ask Nocchorin to gather items for you. Depending on Nocchorin’s mood, he may be able to acquire a large amount of items all at once.

Ride Fusion is a new element added to Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Professional.

In battle, a Ride Fusion gathers up the power of two monsters and fuses them into one powerful monster. A Ride Fusion is performed between the monster the player is riding and the monster Nocchorin is riding. (The monster Nocchorin is riding becomes a light that is absorbed by the protagonist’s monster.)

When you perform a Ride Fusion, the monster the protagonist is riding becomes huge and is strengthened with a hidden, overwhelming power.

Ride Fusion Awakens New Special Skills and Traits

Activating Ride Fusion triggers exclusive new special skills and traits. These are just a number of the new abilities that appear:

—Special Skill: Touma Bakuenzan

Surrounds the entire area with exploding flames. The lower the physical strength of the user, the more damage the skill will deal.

—Special Skill: God’s Judgment

Calls forth a violent thunder as if it’s God’s judgment itself, and deals a great amount of damage to all enemies.

—Trait: Dragon Killer

Like the name implies, this trait significantly increases the amount of damage you deal to dragon-type monsters.

—Trait: Item Max Increase

Significantly increases the number of items an enemy potentially may drop.

■ Super Life Fusion ModifiedSuper Life Fusion is a feature that debuted in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3. In Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Professional, Super Life Fusion has been enhanced to allow monsters to unleash more power than ever before. It’s called Super Life Fusion Modified.

The greatest feature of this fusion is that the monsters born through it can reach a maximum level of 120. Additionally, with things like the skills it’s able to learn increased, it’s no exaggeration to say that it is the strongest method of fusion.
