http://www.dualshockers.com/2015/04/05/dragons-dogma-online-runs-at-1080p-60-fps-on-ps4-30-fps-on-ps3/We knew that Dragon’s Dogma Online runs at 1080p on PS4, but yesterday during an experience meeting held in Tokyo, Game Director Kent Kinoshita revealed that the game runs at 60 FPS on Sony’s console, while the PS3 version runs at 30 FPS, 720p.Frame rate won’t be locked of course, so it won’t 60 FPS on PS4 all the time. While the game isn’t a full-fledged MMORPG, city instances can include as many as 100 players at once. The number of characters displayed at once is unpredictable, and can become too large to achieve the target frame rate. Dips are to be expected when there’s a crowd.
We also learn that the game is cross-platform, and PC, PS4 and PS3 players will all play together on the same servers.
Like in Dragon’s Dogma, it’ll be possible to play solo with three pawns, and each player will be able to borrow and lend pawns.
During the event yesterday the PS4 version was showcased for the first time, and it featured 8-player multiplayer. The reactions we’ve seen on social media from event participants are rather enthusiastic, and the game seem to have quite some potential.
Below you can see a few pictures of the event itself (including some rather nice swag that was distributed to all participants), that saw the participation of the development team, Producer Yoshinori Ono, voice actress Atsuko Tanaka and SCEJA President Atsushi Morita.
