Can Switch 1 version owners upgrade to the Switch 2 version for free?
Both digital and physical owners will be able to receive the upgrades of the Nintendo Switch 2 version through a free patch on their Nintendo Switch 2 console.
To do so, insert your Nintendo Switch 1 cartridge into your Nintendo Switch 2 and install the game (and DLC, if you own it), or download and install your digital Nintendo Switch 1 version on your Nintendo Switch 2. Then, download and install the upgrade patch.
Note that the upgraded Nintendo Switch 1 version and the standalone Nintendo Switch 2 version are still counted as separate products by your console.
I do not see the Costume Pack DLC in the eShop for Nintendo Switch 2. Is it not available on Nintendo Switch 2?
In the Nintendo Switch 2 version, the DLC comes bundled together with the main game, however, this only applies if you purchase the Nintendo Switch 2 version directly, or if you already own the DLC on Nintendo Switch 1. To break it down simply:
If you buy the Nintendo Switch 2 version directly, you get both the base game and the DLC.
If you already own and have installed the Nintendo Switch 1 version of both the base game and the DLC, the Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade patch will also let you access the base game and the DLC.
If you own only the Nintendo Switch 1 version of the base game, but not the DLC, the Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade patch will let you access all features of the Nintendo Switch 2 version EXCEPT the DLC. If you wish to have access to the DLC in the upgraded version, please buy and install the standalone Nintendo Switch 1 version of the DLC before downloading and installing the upgrade patch.
Will Switch 1 owners be able to carry over save files?
If you purchase the Nintendo Switch 2 version directly: No, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed for Nintendo Switch 2 is a different product and consequently cannot use the save files of the Nintendo Switch 1 version.
If you use the upgrade patch for the Nintendo Switch 1 version: Yes, you can progress from wherever you stopped. Of course, you would need to transfer your Nintendo Switch 1 save games from the Nintendo Switch 1 console to the Nintendo Switch 2 console first.
Will there be a patch for the existing versions to accompany the port? If so, what will be in it?
There will be no patch to any existing versions, other than the Nintendo Switch upgrade patch mentioned above.
Are there going to be other ports down the line?
If ports to other platforms happen, we will announce them via our official channels at the relevant times.
Will the game run at 60 FPS? Will there be a quality/performance mode toggle?
The Nintendo Switch 2 version generally runs at a higher resolution and frame rate than the Nintendo Switch 1 version, especially when docked. There is no toggle.
Will proper mouse controls be coming to PC as well?
There are currently no plans for patches to the PC version.
