Square Enix will host a “Final Fantasy XV Special Program” broadcast on November 7 at 8:00 p.m. PT / 11:00 p.m. ET / November 8 at 4:00 a.m. UTC / 13:00 JST, the company announced. It will be a pre-recorded, subtitled video intended for viewers worldwide. You will be able to watch it live on YouTube.

The broadcast will deliver the latest news on Final Fantasy XV developments, as well as introduce various initiatives to celebrate the game’s two-year anniversary.

It should be noted that we have not heard anything about the game’s 2019-due “Dawn of the Future” downloadable content episodes since their initial announcement in April.

The April-announced Final Fantasy XV “The Dawn of the Future” downloadable contents “Episode Aranea,” “Episode Lunafreya,” and “Episode Noctis” have been cancelled, Square Enix announced.

Here is the official statement on the cancellation from Final Fantasy XV global brand director Akio Ofuji:


The Final Fantasy XV development team had been planning to release four new DLCs, together titled “The Dawn of the Future,” in spring 2019. This refers to Episode Ardyn, Episode Aranea, Episode Lunafreya, and Episode Noctis. That said, the company has made an important directional change, and the decision has been made to re-examine these projects, concluding that production will be cancelled for Episode Aranea, Episode Lunafreya, and Episode Noctis, three out of the four DLCs planned. We are still developing Episode Ardyn, which continues to aim for a March 2019 release. I believe many fans have been eager to play these episodes, and the entire development team is regretful that we are unable to meet everyone’s expectations.

Allow me to provide additional insight into what we mean by a directional change for the company. A new company called Luminous Productions was formed, centered around the staff who had previously been developing the main game as part of Business Division 2, and the have continued to work on the project since. The main purpose of establishing Luminous Productions was to create a studio that can deliver a completely new AAA title to the global market. And due to this directional change, the company has decided to focus our resources on the development of this AAA title. This resulted in the decision to cancel the production of three out of the four DLCs originally planned and introduced.

Although this is extremely regretful, we hope everyone will continue to look forward to Episode Ardyn, which is still being developed in earnest. As for the new title currently in the works at Luminous Productions, we wish everyone will hold high hopes for our upcoming title as well.



This news follows an earlier story in which Square Enix announced that it had booked an extraordinary loss of 3,733 million yen (approximately $33 million) as a result of shifting Luminous Productions’ focus to the development of “large-scale, high-quality AAA game titles, which best leverages [Luminous Productions’] strengths.”

Comunque gran bel modo di festeggiare il secondo anniversario del gioco...

Personalmente, non mi mancherà molto.

 
Felice che Tabata sia andato via, almeno se fanno Agni's Philosophy non ci sarà lui a mettere mano.

Non sappiamo quali siano le ragioni che hanno portato Tabata ad andarsene, né quelle per cui Nomura resta... non è che ci sia molto da criticare o elogiare, qui. :asd:

Ma volendo fare supposizioni, se una persona fonda uno studio per creare dei progetti e poi lascia la compagnia, è probabilmente perché non aveva la libertà o i fondi per realizzare i progetti che desiderava creare. Quindi ben venga che lasci e vada altrove, dove (magari) avrà più libertà d'azione. Quindi, se fosse così, sarei ben contento per lui che se ne vada.

 
Sono abbastanza certo che sia stato mandato via, calcio in **** a lui e FFXV.

Probabilmente gli avranno imposto di trasformare il suo progetto in un capitolo di FF e lui ha deciso di andarsene.

 
Peggio di così non poteva andare, progetto nato maledetto e morto maledetto. Comunque è bellissimo vedere i topic dei FF uniti a tutti gli altri e non più a parte.

 
  ho appena iniziato il gioco ma mi chiedo cosa è quella icona con la spada azzura che mi appare sotto?vedo che si sta consumando lentamente
