The development team behind the "Oddworld" series tweeted Monday about their upcoming plans, hinting strongly at a high-definition port of "Abe's Exoddus."
On their official Twitter account, Oddworld Inhabitants, the developers and publisher behind the "Oddworld" games like "New 'n' Tasty," reassured fans they will know what's happening with Abe and his fellow Mudokons soon. "For everyone wondering what's happening next with Oddworld and Abe, we'll be taking the lid off things pretty soon," the tweet read. Attached to the social media post was a highly zoomed picture; obscuring the actual subject matter.
It didn't take long for fans to decipher the photo for what it truly was: a visual promoting the 1998 release of "Abe's Exoddus." In response, the developers are being coy with their followers, despite the strong evidence of an HD port is in the works.
Back in 2015, "Oddworld" series creator, Lorne Lanning, talked about remaking "Abe's Exoddus" in the same vein as "New 'n' Tasty," which was developed using the Unity engine, with Kinda Funny Games. Just Add Water, the developers of the "New 'n' Tasty" HD port for PC and consoles, have yet to chime in on the recent "Abe's Exoddus" teasing.
