The jubilation of people being able to play Phantasy Star Online 2 in the west was a short lived one. Reports have been coming in from all around saying that the IP blocks are back online and a Reddit post details that:
“The IP block was lifted as a means to help people, who live in the designated play regions, have a more reliable connection (or be able to connect in general). When these connection issues are resolved, we can expect the IP blocks to go back into effect.”
Recent reports all around the United States say the game is no longer working, just saying that it’s “in maintenance” and not allowing any players to log in.
Many players have reportedly spent money in the game’s in-game item shop and can no longer use their accounts because of this. Even VPNs are starting to get banned. It looks like Sega isn’t allowing this game to get away from their designated area and they won’t be changing their policies anytime soon.
