PlanetSide 2′s PS4 players will have their own servers, cross-play uncertain

PlanetSide 2 is heading to PS4 and developer Sony Online Entertainment has confirmed that those playing on Sony’s console will be bandied together on PS4-specific servers. The studio seems to be ruling out the possibility of PC versus PS4 cross-play at this time.

Speaking with News10, SOE’s Adam Clegg said, “[PS4 players] are going to be on separate servers right now. PC players will still have their servers that we have up and running right now and then we’ll create PlayStation 4 servers for the PlanetSide 2 players.”
This means that cross-play won’t be possible when PlanetSide 2 launches on PS4, and may stem from the old ‘PC players are better because they have mouse and keyboard’ complaint. Regardless, both versions of the game are said to be near-identical, so it’s a confusing decision at this time.

“We really want players to have the same experience. We don’t want the PS4 players to have something different than the PC players,” Clegg continued.

Planetside 2 introduces Player Studio, will ship with PS4 version

GameInformer reports the Player Studio allows users to create in-game items and sell them on the marketplace; Everquest, Everquest 2 and Free Realms already support similar systems.
Sony Online Entertainment confirmed that the Player Studio will be included in the PlayStation 4 version of the MMO; we don’t have a release date for that yet.

Users can download geometry files and textures using Player Studios, and then modify them in their own artistic software to create custom items. These are then submitted to Sony Online Entertainment and, if judged acceptable, added to the game’s marketplace, where sales will generate income for their creators. A style guide gives you a better chance of being accepted.

The Planetside 2 version currently supports decals, hood ornaments, camouflage patterns, vehicle canopy overlays and helmets.

E' uscito un articolo su una rivista specializzata e mi ispira parecchio, l'unica cosa che mi spaventa dei F2P è il pay for win. Sicuro mi schiererò per la Sovranità Vanu :mah:

purtroppo no però hanno detto che sarà disponibile entro la fine dell'anno, dunque non bisognerà aspettare troppo per poterci giocare ^^

Nella pagina precedente ho postato una notizia in cui si dice che la versione PS4 sarà in poche parole la versione PC con i settaggi al massimo :sasa:

L'ho da poco scaricato sul mio pc in attesa di poterci giocare sulla PS4 ma mi gira ad un framerate bassissimo, praticamente ingiocabile. :tragic:

Sony Online Entertainment creative director Matt Higby has said that the upcoming PS4 release of PlanetSide 2 will not be able to play online with PC game owners due to restrictions of the Playstation Network server updating system.
If you want to move back and forth between the two games you can, as characters are entirely transferable, but you can’t play in realtime between the two platforms.
