Shu said that after a E3 (I assume 2012-3) Hermen did a presentation with demos of both Guerrilla pitches and the WorldWide Studios voted for the best, then Horizon won.
He says he is honest when giving his opinion after testing a game, people at studios used to fear him and even created the term ''Shu'ed'' for when he would give a negative opinion of a demo.
Sony really liked Heavy Rain and wanted QD to keep pushing with the interactive game thing, all 3 QD games recouped costs quickly, didn't have big budgets
The worst cancelation for him was Wild, it happened because ideas didn't actually materialize in a game structure, the pitch said the game would have a map with the size of Europe.
Everyone was impressed with NMS, he mentioned at the time the PR strategy wasn't good.
Most difficult project to finish was The Last Guardian because up until the end Ueda wanted to add and polish more stuff, so had to ask them to just finish the game. Ueda creates the pitches/demos himself since he is an animator, the games end up looking really close to the pitch
Biggest/most eventful game launches for him were Crash and Gran Turismo, GOW18 was the best announcement
