Famitsu confirmed two more characters for Samurai Warriors 4. Sakon Shima, last seen in Samurai Warriors 3 Empires, returns with a zanbato in hand for Samurai Warriors 4. Tadakatsu Honda who fights with a giant spear is confirmed to be in the game too.

Samurai Warriors 4 Adds The Vicious Matsunaga Hisahide

This week’s Famitsu magazine confirms that Matsunaga Hisahide, who previously made brief appearances in Samurai Warriors: state of War and Samurai Warriors 2, will be returning in Tecmo Koei’s Samurai Warriors 4.
While it hasn’t been revealed as to how he’ll be fighting, Matsunaga Hisahide fought as a Fire Ninja bodyguard in Samurai Warriors 2, who used bombs as his weapon of choice, so we might be seeing something similar.

The theme of Samurai Warriors 4 will be about telling the history of the era’s unification during the late stages of Japan’s Sengoku period, which takes place across the nation, and will go on until the end of the Sengoku period.

Famitsu also reports that in Story Mode, you’ll be selecting different districts, which will tell the stories featuring big names such as Oda Nobunaga and Takeda Shingen.

Samurai Warriors 4 will be released for PlayStation 3 and Vita on March 20, 2014, in Japan.

Samurai Warriors 4 Adds Two More New Warriors

Famitsu magazine revealed two more newcomers in Samurai Warriors 4. Players will be able to select Takakage Kobayakawa and Ujiyasu Hojo ‘s daughter, Hayakawa-dono.
Kaihime, Ujiyasu Hojo, and Motonari Mori are returning Samurai Warriors characters who will also be in Samurai Warriors 4.

Tecmo Koei added a new move called a swift action that lets you do a speedy attack during a combo by pressing triangle while moving or attacking.

Samurai Warriors 4 Might Get Released In The West This Summer:

The latest Samurai Warriors 4 is going to hit PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan in the near future. Despite the series’ popularity in the West, Tecmo Koei has yet to reveal a release date for the North American and European releases.
It looks like the game might get released in the West during Summer, producer Hisashi Koinuma confirmed. The producer has answered a fan’s question on Twitter about the release date, revealing that the game could “perhaps” get released next Summer.

Four new gameplay videos have emerged earlier this week, showcasing two returning characters as well as two brand new ones. See Yukimura Sanada, Nobunaga Oda, Noboyuki Sanada and Hasahide Matsunaga in action by going here.

Among the confirmed playable characters for Samurai Warriors 4 are Mitsunari Ishida, Hanbei Takenaka, Nobuyuki Sanada, Yoshitsugu Otani, Yukimura Sanada, Inahime, Kanbei Kuroda, Goemon Ishikawa and Musashi Miyamoto. More characters will surely be announced in the near future. It wouldn’t be a true Tecmo Koei hack and slash game without a really huge character roster, after all.

Samurai Warriors 4 will be released sometime during March in Japan on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. We’ll keep you updated as soon as something new comes in on the Western release date.
