Yes, Tekken X Street Fighter Is Still In Development

It’s been about three years since Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada announced Tekken X Street Fighter. Five Tekken games have been released since the original announcement – Tekken Hybrid, Tekken 3D: Prime Edition, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Tekken Card Tournament, and Tekken Revolution.

What’s going on with Tekken X Street Fighter?

"We will say first off that the game is still in development, so you don’t need to worry about that. There are several reasons why we haven’t released any updates. One of the reasons is, Street Fighter X Tekken was released. That still had updates until recently. One interesting thing we’ve seen with that title when it came out was that it’s not quite what we expected," Harada said speaking to Siliconera.

"It was not just Tekken fans and Street Fighter fans merging, there seems to be a whole new community growing around that title that wasn’t playing either of the titles up until that point. That was very unexpected, but quite cool. It’s something we want to take care and grow. Rather than throw out our title right away while those people are still interested in [street Fighter X Tekken] we are looking for the right time because we are still developing [Tekken X Street Fighter]."

In an earlier interview with Siliconera, Harada explained Tekken X Street Fighter will use Tekken’s Limb system which has buttons for right foot and left fist instead of fierce or strong attacks. Harada also told Siliconera the game will be more Tekken-like and Ryu would have more close up techniques, but still have his fireballs. I asked Harada if he could give us more details about the gameplay and if the roster has been decided.


"We are making progress, but everything is secret so we can’t say anything about that," Harada laughed.

ps: ma perche x? non era molto meglio un bel vs come in snk vs capcom? e perche street e tekken? un namco vs capcom alla fine della fiera non sarebbe stato meglio?

beh dal punto di vista del gameplay già è difficile far convivere due sistemi così diversi, mettici pure soul calibur, darkstalkers ecc la cosa si complica ulteriormente se vuoi ottenere qualcosa di buono e non troppo casualone. Dal punto di vista invece del marketing penso una roba come capcom vs namco sarebbe potuta risultare troppo casualona e che comunque faccia più scena lo scontro tra i due picchiaduro più famosi che non altro. Per il Vs invece credo che il motivo risieda nel fatto che la serie Vs è una precisa serie con delle caratteristiche abbastanza delineate di casa capcom.

Tekken X Street Fighter is not cancelled, Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada said during a Q&A following discussion of Tekken 7 at Comic-Con.


The game, Harada said, is still in development and is moving forward, but with all of the other products being created, it needs its own spotlight. It isn’t cancelled, so please relax, Harada emphasized.

Ma io penso che c'è l'accordo con Capcom, per questo il progetto non è stato sputtanato. Tipo dovrebbero pagare una penale, altrimenti, pertanto si campa di 'non è ancora morto', ma in realtà non sanno che pesci prendere :rickds:
