Trails series developer Nihon Falcom announced on October 7 that it has revised its full-year earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending September 2026. The upwards revision was made to account for the steady sales of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, which released globally last month, as well as Kyoto Xanadu -the Blooming Phantom-, which launched in July.

As reported by GameBiz, with sales of last year’s Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter still going strong thanks to the title’s massive global success, the company expects both turnover and profit to exceed its initial earnings forecast.

Projected revenue was raised by 19.4% compared to the previous forecast ($22.7 million USD → $27.1 million USD), while operating profit expectations have jumped by 27.2% ($13.9 million USD → $17.6 million USD). Likewise, ordinary profit is expected to be 27.2% higher ($13.9 million USD → $17.6 million USD) compared to the previous forecast, with net profits seeing a 26.6% increase ($9.4 million USD → $12 million USD).

Interestingly, this makes for the second big yearly financial forecast revision the company has made this year, coming after the revision from May which accounted for a 38.4% increase in revenue and a 69.2% increase in operating profit compared to previous forecasts.

While the company was initially conservative in its expectations for the year due to the difficulty of predicting Kyoto Xanadu’s sales figures (the game also wasn’t included in the financial report published in August this year), the new report suggests it’s been steadily contributing to Falcom’s overall profits. Unlike the Trails series remakes, however, Kyoto Xanadu has only released in Japan and Asia, with no launch date confirmed for a global release so far. As a completely new entry in the Xanadu series, coming almost 10 years after Tokyo Xanadu, it will be interesting to see how it performs in the West once the game launches worldwide.

Intanto mai visto TitS 1 o 2 in nessun negozio fisico.
