The game takes the familiar formula of the series, featuring compelling puzzles, chaotic combat, and perfect presentation, and sticks by it. With a whole new campaign and a wide variety of fresh and familiar abilities, Trine 5 appeals to series fans both new and old.

------------------------Trine 5 hasn't changed all that much from its predecessors, which is more of a good thing than it is bad. At its heart, this is still a gorgeous, remarkably charming, and challenging puzzle platformer that features some of the best environment design in the business. On the other hand, combat still represents a notable low point of the experience despite efforts to tweak it, but this isn't enough of a drawback that it ruins the overall game. It goes without saying that if you liked any of the previous Trine games, you'll love what Trine 5 brings to the table-we'd argue that this offers the most polished and honed version of the series' traditional gameplay. Trine 5 is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a chill puzzle game of reasonable length, it's got a lot of heart and is definitely worth your time.

Trine 5 offers yet more of the same, and while it's got some great puzzles and beautiful visuals, its obvious setting and overlong runtime start to grate after a while.

--------------------Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy continues to push the series back to its former glory. While the combat engine still needs some work, the platforming and puzzles will challenge both your mind and reflexes in satisfying ways. For a fifth entry, it's nice to see the series still trying to produce compelling magical adventures.

Trine 5 is the absolute best installment in the series to date. The higher production values, expanded co-op, customisation and indivdual talent trees, coupled with the fiendish puzzle solving and expert physics Frostbyte are renowned for compliment one another brilliantly. Minor glitches aside, the game still falls into the same trap as its predecessors of being a little too repetitive late on, but whether you’re on your own or with a family, you can have some great fun with this one. My siblings and I ultimately had fun with Trine 5, even through our gripes with the game’s puzzles left us feeling sour on our run. It felt like we were encouraged to skip puzzles than to try and complete them, and I feel that sort of gameplay is simply not encouraging for a player to keep playing, especially if they were to go solo. But we could see ourselves replaying this game or checking out the older titles and I think that says a lot.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy is the biggest installment in the franchise to date. Although the game is quite continuous with respect to the previous installment, the new abilities of our protagonists and the new puzzles and elements will delight fans of the Frozenbyte franchise. Also audiovisually the game is a delight like its predecessors. Some might think that few risks have been taken and that being a continuist is something negative, but four years have passed since the previous installment, so this Trine does not run the risk of embarrassing the user. Travel without fear to the beautiful world of Trine, fun is guaranteed.
