Wattam, the new PlayStation 4 game from Katamari series and Noby Noby Boy creator Keita Takahashi and his studio Funomena, was showcased for the first time at an independent games event hosted in Los Angeles yesterday. VentureBeat attended the event, providing our first in-game screenshots and details.


The game, which has been in development for two years, starts players out with ordinary animated objects, such as a cloud, a mayor, a tree, and some sprouts. Each are given their own names and come to life when they’re interacted with. You can link their hands, and once 10 objects are linked, the mayor can set off a bomb on his head and blow them to the sky like fireworks. During the event demo, the objects all came falling back down and a new object came, drawn in by the happiness of the funny explosion.

Takahashi told VentureBeat that he felt like people are disconnected from each other and need to get together, hold hands, and play.

Robin Hunicke, who co-founded Funomena with Takahashi, commented that “it’s about how the world is made better when people are friends.”

And that’s all we know for now. We imagine we’ll hear more either as next month’s E3 draws nearer or at the expo itself. Wattam is due out in 2016.

nonostante il video non ho ancora capito che cavolo bisogna fare, nella prima parte sembra quasi che bisogna convincere gli altri a fare amicizia per proseguire, nella seconda.................boh a parte tagliare l'erba per far spuntare il fungo non l'ho capito.
