A darkness has fallen over the town of Lorwich.  Monstrous hordes emerge from beyond the realm of nightmares to sow chaos on the land.  As one of four heroes, you must battle the minions of the old ones with the force of arms, and the power of illumination.  Inspired by the writing of H.P. Lovecraft, Atari’s Alone in the Dark series is recognized as the “Father of the Survival Horror Genre”.  Alone in the Dark: Illumination explores this dark legacy in a terrifying action-horror experience.  Battle through dynamic environments filled with bloodthirsty beasts.   Build your party as you rescue your companions including the Witch, Engineer and Priest, each with a unique set of special abilities and weapons.  Danger lurks in every shadow.  While your friends may help, at the end of the night you are always Alone in the Dark.Four Unique Heroes:   The Hunter, the Witch, the Priest and the Engineer each offer unique gameplay experiences with distinctive weapons, skills and powers to unlock.

Play as a Team or Alone in the Dark:  Play with all four characters in co-operative multiplayer mode, build smaller teams for greater challenge, or face the darkness alone.Diverse Environments:  Four campaigns with multiple levels take players through the blasted landscape of Lorwich, and deep below to unearth the mysteries of this forsaken township.Eldritch Horror:  Inspired by the writing of H.P. Lovecraft, beings from beyond madness,  including Roof Walkers, Shapes and Spawns will haunt your nightmares.Dynamic Environments: Interact with dynamic environmental puzzles to change the structure of the map and advance your quest. Harness the Power of Illumination:  Light up maps to create safe zones, and damage your foes.

At PAX Prime, taking place Aug. 29-31 in Seattle, Atari will be providing live demonstrations of numerous recently announced and yet-to-be-released titles.

PAX Prime game demonstrations are available by request, and based on limited availability. Playable demos include:

•Alone in the Dark: Illumination™ (PC)

•Haunted House® (PC)

•Minimum™ (PC)

•RollerCoaster Tycoon: World™ (PC)

•RollerCoaster Tycoon® 4 Mobile™

Atari e Pure hanno pubblicato un primo teaser trailer, quattro immagini e qualche dettaglio per Alone in the Dark: Illumination, nuovo episodio della celebre serie creata da Infogrames.

Ambientato nella città abbandonata di Lorwich, in Virginia, il gioco ci vedrà controllare quattro differenti personaggi ed esplorare i sotterranei dove una volta si trovavano le miniere e che si dice siano abitati da creature mostruose che si muovono nel buio.

Alone in the Dark: Illumination vanterà quattro differenti campagne, da affrontare anche in multiplayer online cooperativo per un massimo di quattro partecipanti. Le classi saranno: Hunter, un discendente diretto di Edward Carnby, armato di fucile d'assalto AK47, M4, P90 e lanciafiamme; Witch, pronipote di Emily Hartwood, capace di lanciare potenti incantesimi fra lampi, controllo mentale e così via; Engineer, figlia di un importante ingegnere informatico, impugna una Beretta, un fucile a pompa, un Tesla e un Comet; Priest, figlio di uno dei più influenti leader religiosi del paese, combatte le creature oscure con riti simili a quelli dell'esorcismo.

Alongside its teaser trailer, Atari released the first screenshots for its new Alone in the Dark game. Alone in the Dark: Illumination is developed by PureFPS, will be a third-person game, and will feature destructible environments via which players will be able to change the structure of the map and advance their quest. The game is planned for a Fall 2014 release on the PC. Enjoy!

Un TPS ?

Almeno nell'ultimo Alone in the Dark si erano introdotte un sacco di cose innovative, l'unico vero problema era lo stato fin troppo rozzo e poco curato del titolo per il popò di roba che voleva proporre.
