Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot confirmed during an interview with Geoff Keighley at Youtube Live by saying that this is not the case as Ubisoft has not changed its plans regarding the cycle of Assassin’s Creed series. Yves Guillemot said:

First, the Assassin’s Creed brand is coming back this year because Ubisoft Quebec had been working on some time (three years) and they were ready to come, so they are coming. We are just now considering the brand. It’s a different approach than the one we had before, so you’ll see it some years but it will not be every year.

2022 o giù di lì per il next gen only sperando non facciano i casini di Unity.

Ubisoft in genere è abbastanza attenta da non lanciarsi nel supporto forte fin dai primi due anni di vita di una next gen, vogliono capitalizzare senza investire assai, poi quando c'è più base installata lavorano

2019 Splinter Cell e forse Watch Dogs 3.

Ubisoft has revealed that it will not launch a new Assassin’s Creed title in 2019, and instead will support this year’s entry, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, with additional content designed to keep players engaged in the game.
Speaking at GamesCom, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot explained that Assassin's Creed Odyssey's 2019 release was enabled because both 2017's Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey were being developed at the same time, and Odyssey will not be immediately followed by another game.

"On Assassin's, we had a game [in 2018] and we have one this year, but we are not going to have a full-fledged Assassin's next year," said Guillemot. "It's just because the team were working separately, so we have two games now, one year after the other. But next year you're not going to have a full-fledged one."

Niente di diverso da come sono stati Brotherhood e Revelations, che erano "porting" del 2, cioè prendevano il 2 come base e facevano diversi miglioramenti.

Stessa cosa con Assassin's Creed III che è stato la base per il IV e Rogue. Mentre Unity ha fatto da base per Syndicate, e l'ottimo Origins da base per Odissey.

Hanno sempre lavorato così, quindi non comprendo tutta questa sorpresa.

Hanno voluto sfornare un capitolo in Grecia che ricalcasse l'impostazione di Origins ed imho è giustissimo così, è un gran gioco ed è stato molto apprezzato ( sebbene non dal sottoscritto causa aspetti gdr e del Combat System, lo considero più uno spinoff

Il pubblico di Origins meritava una seconda scorpacciata

Imho col Jap punteranno su un aspetto marcatamente stealth e si butteranno su nuove meccaniche ninja, roba si vista e rivista ma mai dagli occhi degli Assassini, staremo a vedere

Per il prossimo anno hanno qualcosa in serbo, ci stanno pure le voci su Splinter Cell e WD3 e per me i prescelti saranno loro

- New Character. Can choose male or female (like Far Cry 5), but same story. 

- Next Assassins Creed is codenamed Legion in 2020 on current and next gen
- Set in Italy at the end of reign of Marcus Aurelius (guy from Gladiator) and during the struggles of his son Commodus and the year of 5 emperors
- Play as Cassius or Lucia, a descendent of characters from Origins and Odyssey
- Unclear which is canon, but like odyssey features choices and heavy RPG elements and same story for both characters. 
- Made by Sofia to tie up some loose ends for the “Ancient Trilogy” and currently is more first civ intensive than other game.
- Main story is more involved in assassins and politics with first civ and flashbacks to other points in Rome history being secondary. Ubi wants to make it feel more like assassins creed while feeling like Odyssey to make old and new fans happy
- Map is mainland Italy and small part of Gaul and Germania like Libya in Origins
- Revised mercenary and cultist system. Big cultists and main story assassinations have those memory things

Ottimo per WD3, aspetto da secoli di vedere Londra in un videogioco del genere ed Ubisoft sicuramente con gli open world ci sa fare, poi amo l'atmosfera e lo stile di Londra ( sia come città, che come estetica di quartieri, abbigliamento e tutto )  spero solo non sia troppo simile a WD2 lato punk perché il rischio c'è imho 

AC a Roma mi ha ucciso l'hype, speriamo di no 

Sarebbe un more or the same pesante imho, rischia di essere troppo simile ad Odissey
