It was later ported to the Game Boy Advance and the Wii's Virtual Console.

There are many similarities between the titular seven heroes and the first Schichibukai of the Manga One Piece

"Rocbouquet - The queen of an island of warrior woman who has a temptation skill that charms men. (Hancock)

Kujinshi - He steals souls and can create zombies. (Moria)

Dantarg - A ‘tyrant’ who modified his body to become stronger. (Kuma)

Bokuohn - He controls people like puppets. (Doflamingo)

Subier - A half octopus merman who controls the flow of the ocean to use as a weapon. (Jinbei)

Noel - A powerful swordsman with a strict code of honor. (Mihawk)

Wagnas - He doesn’t have sand powers, BUT his plot is that he wanted to find an ancient inscription telling the location of a powerful weapon so he could take over a country. (Crocodile)

The Revenge of Shinobi

In the original release, Batman and Spiderman appear as bosses. Batman was later replaced by a different enemy, while SEGA added a copyright disclaimer for Marvel Comics, who allowed Spiderman to stay in the game.

Special contest

Nintendo Power held a Turok contest where the Grand Prize winner would have their likeness used in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. Juan Gaspar won the contest and was also given a trip to Iguana Entertainment to have his image digitized and voice recorded for the game. His face can appear on the Life Force tokens by activating the "HEEERESJUAN" and "YOQUIEROJUAN" cheats on both the Nintendo 64 and PC versions.

Street Fighter II

During early development the team had the idea of the game's story being centered around an abandoned island that had been purchased to host a tournament featuring fighters of all different styles. This early draft of the story is reminescent of the 1973 film Enter the Dragon.

Star Fox Adventures

When Fox frees Krystal from her crystal prison at the top of Krazoa Palace in Star Fox Adventures, she immediately grabs her staff back from him and begins firing at the newly resurrected Andross as Fox runs off to his Arwing to confront the latter in Dinosaur Planet's orbit. Strangely enough, in the ending cutscene after Andross' defeat, Fox once again has Krystal's staff in his backpack. When asked about this in a January 10th, 2003 issue of Rare's scribes, the development team responded with:

"It was late. We were tired. Just leave it. Okay? Could you honestly not think of a better question than this?"

Yet another japanese game that didn't generated enough revenue with its predecessors, and so has been left in the Japan-only limbo. Until the fanmade english patch, released eleven years later, that is.

Mario & Yoshi Remake:

Mario & Yoshi

Within leaked source code for Pokémon Black and White uncovered by the Teraleak (a large-scale breach of internal server data from Game Freak in 2024) is an unreleased Nintendo DS remake of Yoshi, which according to the commit notes was intended to test multiboot functions for the two games. Various traits in the remake suggest that it was ported from a prior attempt at a Super Nintendo Entertainment System version instead of being made with the DS in mind: its name on the title screen is Super Yoshi no Tamago, while its copyright notice is listed as 1995 and credits Ape Inc., which had shut down in the same year. Furthermore, gameplay takes place exclusively on the bottom screen, and there are no touch control features present.

The remake only has one stage, an underwater level. Mario uses Jill's voice lines from Drill Dozer while Yoshi retains his modern voice. The game is also riddled with bugs, featuring corrupted title screen graphics, a nonfunctional mode selection screen, and a glitch where the game may lock up if certain button combinations are pressed. Due to the Teraleak only containing fragments of the Pokémon Black & White source code, it is unknown if these bugs reflect the state that Super Yoshi no Tamago was in when it was abandoned.

Castle of Illusion

When creating the sprite animations for Mickey, the game's designers had to design the levels to accommodate for the higher number of frames of animation and subsequent extra distance in Mickey's jump. When asked about the inspiration for the game's high-quality sprite animation, producer Emiko Yamamoto told Game Informer in 2013:

"For animation we studied the [Disney] films frame by frame and worked very hard to recreate it in the game. For example, with Mickey’s jump, we wanted to fully express his body movement so we added more frames of animation. As a result, his jump ended up being longer than a jump would be in a normal game, so we had to design the levels so that the distance of his jump worked."

According to Yamamoto, the developers aimed for these higher-quality animations in the first place because they valued making the world and characters feel alive and only realized they were capable of achieving this after creating supplementary animations like Mickey's idle and wavering animations:

"Actually this was something the main programmer and animator came up with. I recall them coming to me and showing me what they created (the idle animation and also the animation for when Mickey was wavering at the edge of a platform) and I was pleasantly surprised. I asked them “Oh, we can do something like this? Sure, let’s do it!” Making sure the world and characters feel alive was very important to the team."

Noto una certa somiglianza:

Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg

It's thought that the four characters playable in the multi player and story mode games are based on four of the main Sonic the Hedgehog characters - Billy is Sonic, Chick Poacher is Tails, Bantam Scrambled is Knuckles and Rolly Roll is Amy. The Hatcher characters use similar colors and copy poses as well. For example, on the game's box art, Billy is in the same pose as Sonic from official Sonic Adventure 2 artwork.

Differenze regionali:

Contra: Hard Corps

Contra: Hard Corps has significant differences between the Japanese, American, and European versions. In the Japanese version the characters all have a lifebar, and can be hit three times. This version also has unlimited continues unlike the American and European (PAL) version. The American and European version does not have a lifebar; a single bullet will take a life. This makes the American and European version significantly more challenging.

The European version also has significant censorship. The game is called Probotector and all the characters in the game are robots. Furthermore the plot and cut-scenes are different. The antagonists are aliens and the Alien Cell's name was changed to the "X-Drive".

Un concept diverso

pO57FDU.jpeg

In a 2006 interview published by Sega-16, former Sega of America employee Scott Berfield stated that the original idea for Eternal Champions was much more humorous and over the top. Characters would have been parodies of various heroic archetypes, while the training mode would have consisted of minigames where the player beats up dwarves in different ways. The character design would have been inspired by the art of British comic book artist Simon Bisley, and in fact Berfield tried to get Bisley himself to do artwork for the game, but this couldn't be done due to scheduling conflicts. Additionally, the gameplay was also going to be different, being closer to that of Street Fighter II. Berfield left Sega of America sometime after the project was greenlit, and it was passed down to then Sega producer Michael "Mike" Latham who decided to make drastic changes to the idea. Shadow Yamato is the only surviving character from the initial concept.

Concept

M2nkPwR.jpeg

Early concept art (released by Hideo Yoshizawa) depicts Huepow as a flame monster eating an enemy alive and throwing out its lifeless corpse and the Moos as werewolf-like creatures. This art suggested that the game was originally going to be somewhat darker and more action-oriented than the final game turned out to be.
