The Punisher

Guardroid, the second boss of the game, has a completely different design between the arcade and Genesis versions. The background is also slightly changed between versions, as the curtains in the background are open in the arcade version, showing a couple of moonfish inside an aquarium, whereas in the Genesis version the curtains are closed.

Un successo strameritato :ivan:

To date, Steins;Gate has been ported to nearly every possible gaming platform in existence since the 7th Generation. The only exceptions would be Wii and Wii U. That's not even counting the spin-offs, sequels, prequels, anime, soundtracks, drama CDs, other miscellaneous material, and whatnot. "Milking it" would be an understatement at this point. Taken up to eleven during this title's 10th Anniversary in 2019, where it was announced that the there will be 10 new projects for it, which was originally an April Fools joke! In comparison, Chaos;Head only had small "Happy Anniversary" stuff for their 10th Anniversary.

Battletoads Advance:

Battletoads

A Battletoads game for the Game Boy Advance was in development, but eventually canceled. A prototype version was created in a few weeks with placeholder character animations, enemy AI and sound effects. The game's design plans were to either make a remake of the original NES game or whatever the developers thought was best. A potential Xbox version was also in consideration.

Tante fonti di ispirazione

Director Nate Fox stated that much of the inspiration of the superhero story came from two DC Comics series, DMZ and No Man's Land. Both center on a city after a large disaster. The series also inspired the crafting of the game's grim take on the superhero genre. Fox further stated that the film Batman Begins was an inspiration for the game. However, any correlation to DC Comics' Static Shock was unintentional. Fox considered his own personal involvement in the Seattle WTO riots of 1999 as influencing the reflection of "spending time in a lawless place" within the game.

Earthworm Jim

In 2006, a new Earthworm Jim game was announced. Going by the name of Earthworm Jim PSP, it would have been a complete 3D remake of the first game for the PSP. Despite 80% of the game being completed, the game was cancelled due to budgetary reasons with Shiny Entertainment.

Pandora's Tower was first announced in January 2011 during Nintendo's three-quarterly financial report, which was followed shortly by the opening of the official website. At the time, the game was very close to completion, and Nintendo was still working out the marketing. The game's cover art generated controversy in Japan due to the physical similarity of protagonist Aeron to early promotional images of Noctis Lucis Caelum, the protagonist of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Pandora's Tower was released in Japan on May 26 the same year, published by Nintendo.Pandora's Tower was later confirmed for a European release alongside fellow Wii RPG The Last Story. It was localized in English by the same team that had done Xenoblade Chronicles and later Project Zero 2: Wii Edition, utilizing a British voice cast.[23] It was published in Europe by Nintendo on April 13, 2012. In addition to the standard release, a special edition containing a steelbook casing and artbook alongside the game. Nintendo also published the game in Australia on April 12.

Niente più password :rivet:

In the Japanese release, the game uses passwords to resume game progress. This was replaced with a battery backup save system in the US release.

New Super Luigi U

If the Final Boss is beaten with Nabbit, he'll make a small cameo as Luigi goes up to Princess Peach, spying on the two of them.

Mistralation

The English version of Mana Khemia 2's title is actually a mistranslation. Mana Khemia 2's Japanese title is or "Mana Khemia 2: ~The Fallen Academy and the Alchemists".

The Japanese title is also more reflective of the game's plot, as the story has more to do with an alchemy school's decline than it is with the decline of alchemy itself.

Orwell ci sta sempre bene

While on planet Noveria, Captain Ventralis states his rule is "two legs good, four legs bad", a corruption of the phrase "four legs good, two legs bad" as stated by the sheeps in George Orwell's "Animal Farm". Ironically, the sheeps would later change this to "Four legs good, two legs better" by the novel's end.

Mega Turrican

In the game's data, there are unused sprites that appear to be Mario and Sonic frozen in carbonite in the same manner as Han Solo in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. They were most likely to appear after the first mini-boss, according to screenshots previewing the game in the German magazine Amiga Games.

When entering Wonderland for the first time, a scene showing Sora fighting several Possessors will play out. This did not appear in the first game.

In the 2012 PC re-release, using a Save Crystal in a specific screen of the Northern Cave will display the area name in the menu and save file as "Secret Cow Level". This is a reference to the Secret Cow Level in Diablo II.

Facciamo un po' di chiarezza:

Ys IV

There are two official Ys games released under the name "Ys IV": Mask of the Sun, made by Tonkin House, and The Dawn of Ys, made by Hudson Soft. While both games share the same setting, Hudson Soft took more creative liberties with The Dawn of Ys' presentation, resulting in two different games. Originally, The Dawn of Ys was the canonical version of Ys IV. This was changed following the release of Ys Vi: The Ark of Napishtim, wherein Mask of the Sun became the canon version. Years later, however, both versions would be rendered non-canon with the release of Ys: Memories of Celceta, which is not only also considered "Ys IV", but was actually made by series creators Nihon Falcom.

Ark, il solitario:

Terranigma

According to a 1997 Comptique Magazine (March edition) interview with the game's director/designer/writer Tomoyoshi Miyazaki, he was asked why he chose Ark to be the only playable character. He responded:

"That was something that was decided at the very beginning, to only have Ark. Well, there’s also Yomi who you control inside Pandora’s Box. Because the player is alone in the story, we figured there should only be one character the player controls. That also makes it easier for you to empathize with the protagonist. One advantage was that since limiting the characters increases the memory available, we were able to do more complex and detailed movements and animation for Ark that we couldn’t do in the previous two titles. The controls are a step-up in that regard, I think."
