When a player gets a draw, what will originally happen is Bomberman will fall one by one on the screen in the Japanese version. Getting a draw in the International version will cause the letters of "draw" to come one by one on the screen, but no Bombermen fall on the screen.

Un covo di easter egg

In the Radessian continent is a cave blocked by two whirlpools. If the player has the refined flightstone for the Albiore from the Roneal Mountains, it's possible to go into the cave and turn up in an area known as "Nam Cobanda Isle". This name is based on the name of the developer, Namco Bandai. The cave is filled with references from previous Tales of and Namco Bandai games, such as Klonoa's costume and the Katz Village from Symphonia and Eternia.

Il videogioco si presenta in ambientazione a tre dimensioni abbandonando sia il motore Agos dei predecessori che il classico stile per questi videogiochi. Le ambientazioni sono molto vaste e Simon dovrà camminare molto tra una locazione e l'altra. Il controllo tramite tastiera include molti tasti da premere. In alcuni punti il videogioco si trasformerà in un vero e proprio platform 3D.

The game initially started development shortly following a successful relationship between Argonaut and Nintendo, with the former creating a processing chip for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System called the Super FX that was used in games such as Star Fox to display 3D polygonal environments. It was first pitched to Nintendo as a prototype for a 3D platform game in which the player controlled Yoshi from Nintendo's Super Mario series, but was ultimately rejected by Nintendo, ending the relationship and prompting Argonaut to retool the game as an original property. The game's characters and mechanics were designed by Simon Keating in his first-ever video game project. Justin Scharvona, Karin Griffin, and Martin Gwynn Jones composed the game's music, while Jonathan Aris provided the voice of Croc.

During the fight with Berial, a sign bearing the name "Mundus Vivendi" (Latin for "Mundus Lives") can be seen briefly twice, once before falling from its post, and again when it is shown on the ground. Mundus is the main antagonist of the first Devil May Cry.
