Odin Sphere

Publisher Atlus instructed Odin Sphere developer Vanillaware to complete the game in time for a 2006 release. However, the game's release was ultimately pushed back to 2007 to avoid cannibalizing sales from Atlus' own Persona 3. This meant that although Vanillaware's first game completed was Odin Sphere, their first game that actually released was GrimGrimoire, which only began "serious development" after Odin Sphere was completed.
