Backstory

After losing to the enemy high commander Ravus, Gladiolus is forced to swallow a bitter pill and face the limitations of his own strength. In order to travel with the Chosen King, he realizes he must also possess a comparable level of power in order to protect him. In the ancient ruins that were found in the Kingdom of Lucis 30 years ago, the spirits of heroes that once served the king await the next generation of warriors.

Gladiolus parts ways with his entourage and meets up with Cor, the sole survivor of the trials. Now, with his mentor at his side, Gladiolus sets out to challenge the Shield of the Founder King: the Blademaster, Gilgamesh.

During a short interview with Italian website Game Legends, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata teased plans to explore the past of character Ardyn Izunia, as well as do beta testing for the game’s multiplayer elements.
Here is the full interview:

What were the difficulties in transitioning from Final Fantasy Versus XIII to Final Fantasy XV?

Tabata: “Since the hardware generation changed, we had to look at everything again including the layout, usable technology, and form of production, and alongside that renew the game content to be suitable for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One generation.”

Is there any new information on the multiplayer elements?

Tabata: “While I can’t say anything right now, we plan to do a beta test before offering official service.”

Are there any plans to explore Ardyn’s past?

Tabata: “We do have plans for something like that. Please look forward to it.”

Will there be new types of gameplay for future downloadable content?

Tabata: “We plan to introduce new types of gameplay based on the theme of each downloadable content.”

New “Stable Mode” added to the PlayStation 4 Pro resolution options. With this mode, you can comfortably enjoy playing the game with a stable frame rate.Subtitles, as well as some menu screen text sizes have been enlarged.

Timed Quests will start up again, and a new ranking feature has been added. You can get a wonderful weapon as an initial reward.

New car stickers added for Regalia customization.

New songs added to the music player.

L'update che uscirà il 27 aprile conterrà anche un'arma chiamata Afrosword.

Sarà ottrnibile completando le nuove quest a tempo e cambierà la BGM con una canzone degli Afrojack.

- As per the results of a survey in Taiwan, “Stinky Tofu with a Mellow Flavor” has been added to Ignis’ cuisine.- The winning photograph in the 2nd Snapshot Contest is displayed at the restaurant in Hammerhead.

- A survey regarding future updates has been added to the title screen. (This survey will end in late June.)

- Fixed a bug that would forcibly close the game when on the Timed Quest rankings screen.

- Fixed various bugs.
