Gamestop ha fatto delle offerte e mi sono accaparrato a poco i sopra citati (tranne a Way Out) sopratutto a pochissimo The Sexy Brutale. Finiti i 2 sopra citati, entrambi buone e buonissime esperienze, sopratutto Sexy Brutale che se vogliamo mi ha anche emozionato come gioco, belle atmosfere, certe musiche non male bella ambientazione (amo le ville con passaggi segreti e tutto) e bella direzione artistica e concept interessante che mi ha attirato fin da subito, se vogliamo enigmi altalenanti come difficoltà, con alcuni più facili e altri più difficili ma comunque alcuni molto carini, la storia anche mi ha sorpreso alla fine non è niente di nuovo ma piena di simbolismi da interpretare tu, se vogliamo troppi, ma nell'insieme non è un male. Mi ha ricordato find a subito certi giochi per DS che adoravo, cosa positivissima. Insomma se lo trovate a poco (al Gamestop sopratutto) dategli una possibilità assolutamente.
A Way Out anche bella esperienza, e se vogliamo quasi inedita visto che non faccio un gioco a 2 da un decennio, ma piacevolissima esperienza, chiariamoci il gioco è in fin troppo guidato, roba che ti da i segnalini per tutto e alcune cose se non te lo dicono o compaiono i segnalini neanche puoi farle, in generale non ha una difficoltà tarata verso il basso ma proprio assente, la storia anche è abbastanza semplice (qui non un demerito) e abbastanza telefonata, e con dialoghi non esattamente ottimi, ma sicuramente ha una buona regia generale, alcuni momenti ottimi (sopratutto per me verso il finale, dove un pochino la trama si riprende) e una buonissima OST, una direzione artistica anche non male e sopratutto fa il suo dovere di farsi giocare e divertire in 2 (poi dipende anche con chi lo giochi ovvio) e quindi insomma promosso, e e Fares si riconferma sviluppatore da tenere d'occhio cosi come il suo quasi neonato studio, vediamo cosa tirerà fuori adesso, molto curioso e speranzoso.

Mi sto dedicando ai vari giochi VR che ho acquistato tra Natale e l'inizio del nuovo anno, si prestano bene ad essere alternati a roba come AC Odyssey o Smash che invece sono ben più corposi come contenuti quindi chisà quando finirò.
Rush of Blood è un bel titolo per il VR, nonostante sia praticamente uno dei giochi di lancio si difende ancora oggi molto bene e lo consiglio assolutamente a chiunque si trovi a mettere le mani sul visore per la prima volta. Graficamente è molto buono, integra i sensori di movimenti in maniera intelligente (giocato con i Move merita) e offre pure dei buoni salti sulla sedia per chi ama le atmosfere horror
Purtroppo per quanto divertente resa comunque un "giochino" senza infamia e senza lode, praticamente a metà strada tra uno sparatutto su binari e un "punta e clicca" da sala giochi, anche come contenuti è scarso seppur molto rigiocabile.
Astro Bot è invece la vera killer application del VR nonchè uno dei miei giochi preferiti della gen, ma in generale è una di quelle esperienze che segnano una gen intera. Un platform divertente, con tante trovate geniali che hanno consentito agli sviluppatori di superare i limiti intrinseci alla realtà virtuale e trasformarli in punti di forza (soprattutto per quanto riguarda gestione della telecamera e sistema di movimento). Di sicuro una delle esperienze più dirompenti e innovative della mia carriera videoludica, la sorpresa ulteriore è stata quella di trovare sotto la "superficie" della realtà virtuale anche un gioco di per sè validissimo, un platform di grande spessore con un gran design dei livelli, trovate di gameplay brillanti e una direzione artistica che mi ha soddisfatto in pieno. Aggiungiamo una colonna sonora eccellente e molto ispirata, un sistema di controllo al top per un platform 3D ed ecco confezionato uno dei migliori platform degli ultimi anni, assolutamente da provare per chiunque abbia la possibilità da qui a fine gen di mettere mano ad un visore

Finita The Lost Legacy, per me bomba. Espansione stand alone fatta divinamente, si sente il fatto che molta roba sia stata ripresa da Uncharted 4 e non ha il respiro di un capitolo principale, ma per chi come me non aveva apprezzato il 4 a causa dell'eccessiva diluizione ne guadagna praticamente sotto tutti gli altri aspetti. Almeno 2 tra le arene migliori della serie + set pieces lunghissimo finale al cardiopalma che omaggia l'intera saga, non potevo chiedere di meglio.

Batman: The Telltale Series [7.0]
Non tra le produzioni della defunta Telltale, per quanto neanche tra le peggiori, alcune idee sono anche molto buone e quasi sovversive nella mitologia di Batman, ma altre anche abbastanza e fin troppo rodate e sopratutto con sceneggiatura altalenante, cioè alcune parti buone appunto e altre che sono buttate un po' a caso o frettolose, anche se molto buono l'episodio finale del gioco.
Interessante la caratterizzazione di Batman, diversa da quella canonica vista nel fumetto o in altri media, nonché molto Bruce centrica e in generale più emotiva, qui molto interessante come cosa. Non male lo stile generale della grafica, e buono il fatto che ci sia più OST originale di quanto non ne stia, di solito, nel gioco classico gioco Telltale.
Insomma discreto ma senza esagerare, ma vedrò sicuramente di prendere il seguito, che abbia una conclusione o meno.
Nota a margine il fatto che ormai nell'universo videoludico di Batman non si possa fare a meno dell'Arkham Asylum.

Finito What Remains of Edith Finch, così su due piedi è meraviglioso ed il miglior walking simulator dopo Stanley Parable. Alcune delle idee con cui racconta le vicissitudini dei vari membri della famiglia (Lewis sopra tutte) sono puro genio avanguardistico per la narrazione videoludica.

Letteralmente meraviglioso. Strutturalmente è praticamente una manciata di minigiochi tenuti insieme con un walking simulator a fare da hub, eppure il tutto ha incredibilmente senso. Ritmo e durata perfetti, ogni segmento è bilanciato esattamente quanto basta per ravvivare la formula di gioco senza lasciar emergere la propria limitatezza. Una continua sovversione delle aspettative, una narrazione ambientale di altissimo livello, un'invenzione ludico-stilistico-narrativa dietro l'altra, tanto brillante da conferire a queste piccole semplici storie un impatto emotivo quasi inimmaginabile finché non lo si prova con mano. Dire che Edith Finch è più della somma delle sue parti sarebbe decisamente un eufemismo.

Ritmo e durata perfetti, ogni segmento è bilanciato esattamente quanto basta per ravvivare la formula di gioco senza lasciar emergere la propria limitatezza. Una continua sovversione delle aspettative, una narrazione ambientale di altissimo livello, un'invenzione ludico-stilistico-narrativa dietro l'altra, tanto brillante da conferire a queste piccole semplici storie un impatto emotivo quasi inimmaginabile finché non lo si prova con mano. Acquistato compulsivamente in preda alla fotta per Into the Spider-verse, e sinceramente non mi aspettavo che mi sarebbe piaciuto così tanto. Non che pensassi fosse brutto – semplicemente, mi sembrava solo un altro Arkham in una calzamaglia diversa. E per quanto ciò non sia affatto falso, ho finito comunque per divorarmelo in una settimana, che per me è un ritmo decisamente notevole. Non inventa assolutamente niente di nuovo, ma ogni suo aspetto è talmente rifinito, bello da vedere e piacevole da giocare che forse andava benissimo anche così. (E sì che le sezioni dedicate a MJ e Miles sono un compitino un po' svogliato, ma sono anche un buon contrappunto utile a spezzare il ritmo.) La trama è classica ma avvincente quanto basta a tenere il ritmo alto, la scrittura dei dialoghi non è mai banale (anzi) e le interpretazioni sono eccezionali sia nel doppiaggio che nella motion-capture. Anche l'animazione è spettacolare, tanto nelle cutscenes quanto nel gameplay stesso. Praticamente c'è un film in omaggio con il gioco, e probabilmente per tre mesi è stato il miglior film di sempre su Spidey. E sarà una banalità, ma le tute sono fantastiche. Insomma promosso a grandi voti, davvero una bella sorpresa per me.

Finito poco fa, mi è piaciuto abbastanza per essere un AC e trovo che la nuova strada sia interessante ma ci sono alcune cose da sistemare:
- l'ispirazione evidente è TW3 ma manca tutto l'impianto narrativo che collega le vicende al mondo e eleva qualitativamente la narrazione: mancano tutte le quest che ti fanno conoscere distretti, pg, fazioni e che creano immersione e situazioni vive... arrivi nella nuova città, ci resti 2 minuti per uccidere il bersaglio e via, Alessandria sembrava promettente ma resta purtroppo unica in tutto il gioco(peccato che le parti finali coi romani siano le più deboli, Cirene e relativa regione sembravano splendide)
- una gestione un po' troppo "usa&getta" del loot e crafting troppo semplificato e limitato
- uno stealth ancora troppo semplificato e quasi sempre legato a una debolezza dell'IA nemica... fischio, cespuglio e via di pulizia tranquilla e indisturbata
- non è un RPG nonostante la presenza di alcuni elementi del genere, mancano senso di progressione, possibilità di build specifiche, path multirisoluzione e di plasmare pg e mondo di gioco(bayek e aya vanno avanti per i fatti loro e non è possibile interagire col mondo di gioco, visto che il percorso e finale delle quest è già definito)
- tutte le questioni specifiche legate al presente, basta... che mettano solo filmati come in syndicate se proprio qualcuno non può farne a meno, non si può spezzare il ritmo con fasi guidatissime come quelle fuori dall'animus con layla(oltre al fatto che narrativamente si è sempre fermi al finale di AC3)
Ho invece apprezzato:
- Combat system, resta molto basilare, povero di opzioni e pecca in varietà(di approcci e di tipologia di nemici) ma è sicuramente un passo avanti rispetto al monotasto tipico della saga. Bisogna ripartire da qui e dedicarsi a un'opera di approfondimento di armi e abilità, potenzialmente c'è varietà ma non è sfruttata(la spada si usa come la sciabola, che a sua volta non è troppo differente dai pugnali,ecc.) ed è necessaria una maggiore integrazione degli strumenti che restano un po' una gimmick per ora
- Caratterizzazione estetica del mondo di gioco, è impeccabile e non c'è nulla da aggiungere... ambientazioni e città ben caratterizzate e differenziate a seconda delle zone di influenza
- il tentativo di lasciarsi alle spalle alcune meccaniche limitanti del passato, ad esempio la necessità di coordinarsi coi punti aquila per sbloccare gli elementi di interesse, e questo punto direi che possono essere addirittura rimossi senza rimpianti
- il cercare di dare un background narrativo ad alcune quest/attività, per carità ancora poco per confrontarsi con veri rpg narrativi, però sicuramente elemento da tenere e potenziare in futuro
- contenuti inseriti con più criterio nella mappa di gioco(ad es tane di mostri lontano da centri abitati,ecc.), anche se alcune attività secondarie potevano essere ridotte di numero in quanto troppo ripetitive e fetch(ad es troppi forti identici sia come disposizione sia come obiettivi)
In definitiva hanno cercato di rivoluzionare la saga assemblando qua e là meccaniche vincenti della scena attuale dei VG, opera riuscita solo parzialmente ma sicuramente un buon(nuovo) inizio
L'originalità si trova tutta nell'estetica del mondo di gioco, fiore all'occhiello della produzione

Considera che se ti è piaciuto Origins allora devi assolutamente prendere anche Odyssey, che risolve molti dei problemi che hai citato e pesca ancor più a piene mani dalla struttura narrativa di TW3.Inizio anche io il 2019 dai

La peggiore della 3 Stagione di The Walkig Dead, diciamo che sembra che per circa più di metà gioco non sappiano dove andare a parare, senza contare che nonostante la trama alla fine siù più esile del solito il tutto è anche abbastanza diluito, e nonostante gli episodi siano belli corti, quindi si capisce quanto le cose non sia fatte benissimo. I personaggi secondari sono un po' tutti da buttare (grazie anche a dei dialoghi nn esattamente ottimi) a parte uno o due, che hanno utilità zero e sono davvero poco profondi, anche il protagonista rispetto ai precedenti non brilla più di tanto, però dalla pessima opinione iniziale fortunatamente un po' migliora e lo fa arrivare anche al minimo gradimento, quindi possiamo dire (per dire) bene qui, infine bisogna dire che è praticamente una Stagione filler per quanto riguarda la storia principale, ovvero quella di Clem. Dal punto di vista di regia gli episodi dicono poco, non c'è neanche uno sforzo a fare una regia oltre al puro mestiere.
Ludicamente non c'è nessuna novità rispetto ai precedenti giochi, anzi forse si gioca anche meno in se.
Ora, fortunatamente si gioca abbastanza bene e fila tranquillamente il gioco, e l'ultimo episodio (come il secondo) non è per niente malaccio, quindi la sufficienza abbondante se la prende, ma niente di più, sicuramente anche tra i peggiori giochi della defunta Telltale per me, speriamo che l'ultima stagione, pur con tutti i problemi, sia migliore e degna della conclusione.
