Molto divertente e con una storia particolare ed interessante. Sicuramente un ottimo titolo indie.

Altro indie ottimo; la formula è ultra-collaudata e funziona sempre. Forse più che in altri esponenti del genere la fortuna conta davvero troppo: se ti esce la run fortunata diventi davvero indistruttibile nonostante si commettano degli errori. Essendo procedurale era da mettere in conto questa opzione comunque.
La formula di Uncharted è quello che ha dato alla serie il meritato successo perché nonostante nessuno dei titoli della serie sia davvero un capolavoro riescono nel loro intento di divertire il giocatore e fargli vivere un'avventurona. Ora The Lost Legacy mi è pure piaciuto nella parte finale lineare che riprende la formula classica ma l'ho abbandonato per quasi un anno dopo essere arrivato nella sezione "open world". Fatta bene ma evidentemente messa li più per allungare il brodo che per altro

Aggiornamento di aprile/inizio maggio, a parte aver recuperato dal backlog Titanfall 2, per il resto l'ultimo mese è stato interamente dedicanto a FF7R, che mi ha regalato enormi soddisfazioni.
Siamo ormai quasi a metà anno e ho acquistato soltanto due titoli nuovi, per il resto mi sto limitando a giocare tutti quei titoli già acquistati da tempo e finiti per svariati motivi nel mio infinito backlog. Forse questo mese potrei fare qualche acquisto però, sono ancora indeciso

Aggiornamento di aprile/inizio maggio, a parte aver recuperato dal backlog Titanfall 2, per il resto l'ultimo mese è stato interamente dedicanto a FF7R, che mi ha regalato enormi soddisfazioni.
Siamo ormai quasi a metà anno e ho acquistato soltanto due titoli nuovi, per il resto mi sto limitando a giocare tutti quei titoli già acquistati da tempo e finiti per svariati motivi nel mio infinito backlog. Forse questo mese potrei fare qualche acquisto però, sono ancora indeciso

Contro ogni pronostico finalmente recuperati i due Metal gear solid per PS2. Faccio fatica a valutarli nel complesso, a tratti li ho odiati, spesso li ho amati; a ciò si aggiunge il fatto che sono titoli che mi incuriosivano da talmente tanto tempo, che praticamente era come se li avessi già giocati. Amo lo stile narrativo di questa serie, un po' meno il gameplay. Non tanto per i sistemi in sé, sofisticati e stratificati, strapieni di segreti e sottigliezze, curati maniacalmente nei più minuscoli dettagli; quanto per i controlli, che sono semplicemente rotti e spesso penalizzanti. Non ha aiutato il fatto banale che non sia disponibile un tasto di reset dall'ultimo salvataggio o checkpoint, con il risultato che buona parte del mio tempo di gioco l'ho passato tirandomi granate sui piedi ogni volta che mi beccavano (e non sono state poche). Più facile in Sons of liberty in cui spesso potevo più semplicemente buttarmi di sotto dalle passerelle lol. Da esaltare il comparto grafico, ancora oggi splendido anche grazie ad un ottimo lavoro di conversione. In particolare in Sons of liberty ho adorato la palette cromatica, i colori metallici della Big shell non mi hanno mai stancato; ma davvero c'è tanto da amare, in entrambi i titoli.
Rocket league non credo ci sia bisogno di commentarlo né valutarlo. È Battle cars, ma presentabile. Droga.
Little inferno mi ha deluso. Visivamente e narrativamente gronda lo stesso stile di tutti i prodotti 2D boy/Tomorrow corporation, ma è il gameplay a latitare totalmente. Dura tre ore, e ce ne sono già due di troppo. Capisco che in parte la ripetitività e l'inconsistenza delle meccaniche siano coerenti con il discorso che il gioco vuole portare avanti, ma così è davvero troppo poco. O troppo, a seconda dei punti di vista.
Majora's mask è, nonostante alcune spigolosità perdonabili per un gioco di più di vent'anni fa, un capolavoro del medium. La compattezza di atmosfera, narrazione e meccaniche ha del miracoloso. La qualità della scrittura è di un altro livello rispetto a tutti gli altri titoli della serie che ho giocato, affascinante, inquietante, esilarante e struggente. Impressionante in particolare l'autoconsapevolezza con cui gli sviluppatori hanno saputo giocare con la uncanny valley del comparto grafico, esaltando ancora quell'atmosfera irreale in un modo che paradossalmente sarebbe quasi impossibile su sistemi più avanzati. Da esaltare anche la colonna sonora, sublime: il brano dell'ultima notte e quella dell'osservatorio sono dei capolavori a se stanti. È un gioco che sorprende continuamente, e in molti modi diversi. È un'opera di una compiutezza eccezionale, il che è ancora più incredibile considerando in che condizioni e con che vincoli di tempo lo sviluppo sia stato portato avanti.
Killer7 è stata per me una mezza delusione. È vero che è maggiore della somma delle sue parti: ma le parti in questione sono talmente povere, che anche così è difficile ambire all'eccellenza. Pur nella sua essenzialità ci sono diverse cose che distraggono, e gli impediscono di essere un'esperienza più godibile. Alcuni esempi: la navigabilità di alcuni scenari, troppo confusionaria considerando la loro semplicità; la banalità dei puzzle (a tal punto che è quasi offensivo chiamarli così), che spesso spezzano il ritmo in modo molto fastidioso senza d'altra parte offrire alcuna soddisfazione; la scrittura, divertente nelle prime battute, stancante e monotona a lungo andare; l'impossibilità di dissociare la lettura dei testi dal doppiaggio, o di saltare alcuni monologhi; la povertà di molte boss battle, che provano a cambiare un po' la formula ma in maniera purtroppo davvero velleitaria; e così via. Ciò che salva il gioco è lo stile grafico accattivante, l'inventività di alcune cut-scene, una colonna sonora sempre fra il buono e l'ottimo livello, uno schema di controlli originale e funzionale allo stile generale del gioco, e a un gameplay loop sostanzialmente soddisfacente nella sua semplicità. È un peccato perché sarebbe bastato davvero poco per renderlo più godibile, sacrificando poco o nulla.
Minish cap è una deliziosissima sorpresa, nonché il primo Zelda 2D a piacermi davvero. Davvero un gioiello: pecca solo nella scrittura dei dialoghi e degli NPC, davvero poco ispirata e spesso addirittura infantile, ma tutto il resto è di livello eccellente. Lo stile grafico è curatissimo e bellissimo da vedere; la colonna sonora piacevolissima, e con più di un pezzo davvero notevole; i nuovi oggetti introdotti divertenti da usare, nonché ben gestiti lungo tutta la durata dell'avventura; e i dungeon piacevolissimi, perfettamente bilanciati in modo da non essere mai frustranti ma mai banali, con qualche piacevole sorpresa qui e là rispetto alle ben consolidate consuetudini della serie. Da apprezzare anche il rilievo dato all'esplorazione, che attraverso il sistema dei frammenti e del doppio mondo grande-piccolo trasforma anche la mappa principale in un puzzle da risolvere pezzo per pezzo lungo tutta la durata dell'avventura. Davvero una chicca, che merita a pieno titolo di essere annoverata fra i più riusciti della serie.
Insomma in due mesi mi sono tolto delle belle soddisfazioni, molte delle quali sarebbero quasi sicuramente rimaste nel cassetto se non fosse stato per tutto questo tempo libero capitato all'improvviso. Adesso spero di riuscire finalmente a dedicarmi adeguatamente a Yakuza 0, che di fatto ho continuato a rimandare, e a Resident evil, altra serie che prima o poi devo finire di recuperare.
