Level-5 president and CEO Akihiro Hino hosted a special, 15-minute broadcast today to explain the constant delays faced by Inazuma Eleven Ares, the latest title in its soccer RPG series. While its latest delay rescheduled it for release this winter in Japan, it is now likely not due out until after May 2019.

Here is the summary:

  • Initially, Level-5 was trying to develop Inazuma Eleven Ares alongside World Cup 2018. However, preparations took some time and development started later than planned.
  • The goal was to release the game in July 2018, but there was an unintended miscalculation.
  • The game has always been in development internally, but due to a lack of time it was decided to enlist the help of a third-party.
  • However, even though the external development team that Level-5 enlisted did not have enough people to develop something on the scale of Inazuma Eleven, they accepted the task anyway.
  • Level-5 tried to rebuild the game by adding a large number of its own staff to the project, but since the company realized that a good product could not be made with this development system, they teamed up with a new company and are working on it as a new project.
  • They are working hard to create something good. It will take some more time and they ask people to wait a little bit more. With its current progress, it is very likely it will not release before May 2019. This is not 100 percent settled, as the schedule is still being worked out.
  • People online have asked, “If it’s being delayed this much, then will Ares not include the Orion no Kokuin anime that’s currently running?” Well there is a good chance that Orion elements will be added. It is also possible that will be offered as downloadable content.
  • As for whether Ares will still be the official title or not, that is something that Level-5 will also be considering.
Outside of the release date update, Hino also shared new team artwork and screenshots of the game. Here is the lot:

Level-5 has posted the first in a series of Inazuma Eleven Ares development blogs meant to provide insight into the game’s current status.

Read the first blog post below.

#1. The Development Blog Begins.

Hello, everyone. Akihiro Hino here.

We will begin posting blogs starting today to give everyone a real sense of what’s going on with the Inazuma Eleven Ares game.

First of all, I would like to apologize to have kept everyone waiting since we announced the development blog on the March 1 episode of Inazuma Walker. From now on, we will provide updates at fixed intervals.

With that out of the way, let’s get started.

The other day, the development staff held a meeting.

We discussed the scenario and game systems in order to make the game more enjoyable.

Truthfully, there have been many issues surrounding the game systems…

Today, I will introduce one.

■ In-Match Confrontation Mode

In the demo you may have played at events, if you don’t use a special move when you confront an opponent during a match, you could “select either left or right,” or something like that.

While this keeps operation simple, we felt it could the game uninteresting.

So now we’re thinking of a new game system to improve upon it.

For example, rather than left or right, we have a system where you decide the course of action on your own and think for yourself by choosing where to go based on the opponent’s status.

As shown in the image below, it is a process of trial-and-error in terms of things like how to visually communicate the opponent’s status to be able to determine which course of action is better or worse.

Here, Dio on the left has a large aura (and a buff icon), while Hades on the right has a smaller aura. Since you can see that Hades is panicked, it would be easier to move to the right rather than the left.

Since there is more than one piece of information to consider when determining a course of action, you may be able to proceed the match more strategically. Whether this new system we’re currently considering will turn out well is something we will work out as we actually play-test the game.

Some people might be wondering if we are making system adjustments all around, but things are generally complete, so please rest assured. In order to make the game more enjoyable for everyone, we sometimes re-consider game systems like this and brush up the content, so please wait a little longer.

Until next time!

Inazuma Eleven Ares is due out for PlayStation 4, Switch, and smartphones in 2019 in Japan.

Level-5 president and CEO has provided a brief update on Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes—which is due out for PlayStation 4, Switch, iOS, and Android this spring in Japan—citing development difficulties.

“We’ve kept you waiting on Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes for a long time now, but as one might expect with changing engines and the like, we are facing difficulties in development,” Hino said on Twitter. “By April, I would like to announce our plan for things such as when and how we will to put this out. The image [above] is new. Please give us a little more time.”

Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes has suffered long delays. Previously known as Inazuma Eleven Ares, the game was originally planned for release in summer 2018 in Japan, but was then delayed to fall, then again to winter, then again to sometime after May 2019, before finally being retitled and given a spring 2020 release window

Manco a farlo apposta x quel che dicevo lo scorso anno, rinviato ancora al 2021 in jappo, conoscendo i loro tempi, un miracolo se lo vediamo per fine 2021 da noi

no vabbe raga in level 5 davvero non so cosa stiano facendo in sti anni, appena stato posticipato
