An anime adaptation of Girlish Number Shura, the official four-panel manga spinoff of the Girlish Number television anime and novel project, has been green-lit. The "Girlish Number Kuzu Fes 2017 @ Giroppon☆" event announced the new anime on Sunday.
To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness manga writer Saki Hasemi commented in the manga's 18th and final volume on Tuesday that, while To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness is over, and while any future developments haven't yet been decided, it is "not the final chapter" of To Love-Ru.
Artist Kentaro Yabuki also revealed in the volume that he thinks his next work will not be related to To Love-Ru. However, he also joked that he would like to draw a story about the character Mikan as a magical girl. "It would be nice if there is a time and place where I can draw that," he said.
This year's 19th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine announced on Wednesday that Seimaru Amagi and Fumiya Sato's Kindaichi Shōnen no Jikenbo R (The File of Young Kindaichi Returns) manga is going on hiatus until the 31st issue on July 5 with a new arc. The magazine also noted that the new arc will mark the manga's 25th anniversary, and that the manga will have a "big project" announcement.

Void_Chords is a pseudonym for composer Ryo Takahashi (High School DxD New, ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.) MARU is a new singer who previously performed as Mrs. Jefferson in a 2015 production of the musical Rent. The song's CD single is slated for July 26.

The official website for Production I.G's new anime of Yoshiki Tanaka's epic science fiction novels The Legend of the Galactic Heroes confirmed on Wednesday that the new anime is recasting the main characters Reinhard, Kircheis, and Yang Wen-li. The July issue of Kodansha's Afternoon magazine is announcing on May 25 that a television anime adaptation of Haruko Ichikawa's Land of the Lustrous (Hōseki no Kuni) manga has been green-lit.
The manga's story takes place in the distant future, where a new life form called "hōseki" (gems) is born. The 28 gems must fight against the "tsukijin" (moon people) who want to attack them and turn them into decorations, so each gem is assigned a role such as a fighter or a medic. Although she hopes to fight the moon people, Phos is a gem who is given no assignment until the gems' manager Kongo asks her to edit a natural history magazine.
An event at Machi Asobi for Sakuya Amano's Konohana Kitan manga announced on Saturday that Yuko Ōno will star in the voice cast for the anime adaptation. Ōno will play Yūzu.
The 24th issue of Kodansha's Young Magazine revealed on Monday that Hiro Kiyohara will end his Tantei no Tantei (Detectives versus Detectives) manga in the magazine's next issue on May 22.
The manga centers on Kotoha Minemori, a woman who has been offered work at Suma Research Company's "Anti-Detective Section," and Rena Sasaki, that section's only investigator. The section focuses on rooting out corrupt detectives and removing them from their positions. While the two women spend their days investigating crooked cops, a new criminal is making his move.
Studio Gokumi (Seiren, Yuki Yuna Is a Hero, Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn) opened a website on Monday to reveal an original anime project titled Toji no Miko (The Shrine Maiden Swordwielders). The website hasn't revealed the anime's format, although the website lists a staff member who is handling the series composition, which is usually used for a serialized show (on TV or online). Studio Gokumi has also launched a Twitter account for the project.
Koudai Kakimoto (Cyborg 009 Call of Justice, unit director for Haikyu!!, Psycho-Pass) is directing the series at Studio Gokumi. Tatsuya Takahashi (The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn, Eromanga Sensei) is handling the series composition, and Yoshinori Shizuma (Zero Kara Hajimeru Mahō no Sho/Grimoire of Zero light novel illustrator) is in charge of the original character design. The June issue of Gakken's Megami Magazine confirmed on April 28 that artist Kiseki Himura (Sword Art Online: Progressive manga, Tawawa on Monday) and light novel author Hajime Kamoshida (The Pet Girl of Sakurasou) are collaborating on a new anime. A website briefly opened about a new anime by the two creators on April Fools' Day, but the magazine emphasized that the new anime is real. The July issue of the magazine will reveal more details about the anime and publish staff interviews on May 30.

The official website for Production I.G's "Tate Anime" (Vertical Anime) smartphone app announced on Friday that the app's launch has been delayed indefinitely, due to preparations for the app's launch taking longer than expected. The site will update again once a definite launch date has been decided.
The app was previously slated to launch in April, and then revealed that it will launch this month or later.
The app will offer short (about three-minute) anime that will update every weekday, and each series will have 10 episodes. The new anime will be presented vertically for smartphones. The app is aimed at people who do not have time to watch television or do not own a television.
The app is listing nine streaming titles, but hasn't yet revealed if all the titles would be new anime. Anime that will stream on the app include the anime adaptations of NTT Plala's Lunatan ~Kyojin Luna to Chitei Tanken! game, Gamu's Africa no Salaryman (Businessmen in Africa/African Office Worker) manga, Takana Yukue's T-sensei (My teacher, Mr. T) manga, jin's Precarious Woman Executive Miss Black General manga, and Katsutoshi Murase's Karada Sagashi (Body Search) manga.

Toshiyuki Morikawa will play the character Holland in the film, replacing Keiji Fujiwara from the original television anime. (Fujiwara is taking a break "for a while" from his voice acting activities to undergo medical treatment for an unspecified illness.) Tohru Furuya will play Renton's father Adroc Thurston.
Yuko Sanpei, Kaori Nazuka, Kouji Tsujitani, Michiko Neya, Juurouta Kosugi, and Aya Hisakawa are all returning from the original anime as their characters Renton, Eureka, Dewey, Talho, Charles, and Ray, respectively.
The first film will open in Japan on September 16, and will also open this fall in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. Funimation is in charge of the North American release, and Madman Entertainment is in charge of the Australian and New Zealand release. The official website for the television anime adaptation of Harukaze's Nora, Princess, and Stray Cat. (Nora to Ōjo to Noraneko Heart) adult visual novel revealed on Friday that the series of anime shorts will premiere this summer.
The website also revealed the show's main staff and cast. Kenshirō Morii (Wake Up, Girl Zoo!, Gakumon! ~Ōkami Shōjo wa Kujikenai~, Anime-Gataris) is directing the anime, and Hato, who wrote the scenario for the visual novel, is writing the scripts. Harukaze is credited with the original work.

The July issue of Akita Shoten's Champion RED magazine revealed more details for the planned manga featuring DC Comics characters by Shiori Teshirogi on Friday. The manga is titled Batman and Justice League, and features Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, Green Lantern, and Aquaman. The story will feature the Justice League heading to Gotham City to protect the world from the Joker and an alliance of super-villains. The manga will launch in Champion RED's next issue on June 19.
Manga creator Yui Hara published a one-shot manga titled "Watashi no Chiisana Ohime-sama" ("My Little Princess") on Cygames' Cycomi manga website on Monday.
The comedy manga centers on two girls. Kanade Ōji is the school idol whom all the girls adore, while Tsukihi Soga is the girl who sees herself as a hidden rival to Kanade. Tsukihi fiercely opposes Kanade in everything, but Kanade somehow ends up following Tsukihi around.

Visual novel developer Madosoft began streaming the opening video on Thursday for Wagamama High Spec OC (the OC stands for "Over Clock"), the sequel to the Wagamama High Spec adult visual novel.
