few retailers from around the world have leaked supposed pricing for the Nintendo Switch, and they may make the hybrid console cheaper than you think. Over in the UK, retail chain Tesco has listed the Switch on a landing page for £349, while games retailer GAME may launch the base system for £199.99, according to sources close to Switch rumor powerhouse Let’s Play Video Games. A Switch bundle with a pack-in game and more storage space is also planned for £249.99. GAME also plans to sell Switch Pro Controllers for the equivalent of $39.99 USD.
Over in North America, the Canadian Toys R Us listed the Switch for $329.99 CAD, a page that was quickly taken down (as spotted by WCCFTech).
All the above prices round closely to an MSRP of $249.99 USD, or $299.99 for a planned Switch “deluxe” bundle from GAME, with the Canadian price of $329.99 equating to $242.99 USD. This would fall in line with previous remarks of making the Switch affordable and not be produced at a loss, in the words of Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima. The true pricing model for the Switch won’t be known for sure until a special Switch-themed live stream next January where launch details will be shared live from Tokyo.
