The PlayStation 4 version of free-to-play online shooter PlanetSide 2 will launch in early 2014, Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley has confirmed.
Speaking with Bloomberg, Smedley said, “We’re going to be following up that [DC Universe Online's availability on PlayStation 4 at launch] in early next year with our next game PlanetSide 2 for PS4.”

Planetside 2 is a large-scale open warfare FPS game with sci-fi elements. It is also completely free to play and is available on PC and coming to PS4.
Planetside 2 has been one of the most anticipated free-to-play titles on the PS4 since launch and now we finally have a release date. The large-scale, open-war MMO shooter is set on enormous maps and supports up to 2000 players per server. It is completely free to play and will probably not require playstation plus to play online.

The game is rumored to release on June 30th this year and will be available to download on the PlayStation Store, however it is likely that this will be launched in Beta stage, so not the full product. It has already been confirmed by the developers that the game will run at the equivalent of ultra settings on the PC so this is likely going to support full 1080p and 60fps unlike some of the other games that have been released and locked at a lower frame-rate.
