Al CES 2019 c'è appena stata la conferenza AMD e al contrario di quello che tutti pensavano da tipo 8 mesi non hanno presentato sta fantomatica GPU Navi ma solo una seconda generazione della vecchia Vega a 7nm.

Questo vuol dire che la nuova GPU Navi su PC non arriverà fino a minimo autunno prossimo.

Pure lato CPU, i Ryzen 3000 basati su nuovo chip Zen 2 che la gente si aspettava in uscita quasi imminente invece sono stati solo teaserati e usciranno minimo da giugno in poi.

Insomma per entrambi continuano a esserci più ritardi di quanto predetto.

Perciò o le console nextgen sono più lontane di quanto molti credono (ovvero fine 2020 invece della primavera che tanti presumano) o la loro componentistica potrebbe essere molto meno recente di quanto si pensasse, basandosi quindi più su Vega 7nm & Zen invece di Navi & Zen 2 come tutti i rumor vorrebbero.

Però secondo i rumor AMD e Sony stanno lavorando su Navi insieme, quindi...

The details to officially registered PlayStation 5.pro domain and playstation.com website were found recently on securitytrails website. The website also shows Alexa ranking of playstation.com and places it at number 508 in Alexa Rank.

Per essere chiari, il suffisso "pro" sta per "uso professionale". Non ci incastra niente con una versione pro di Playstation

Sony Japan has just registered a new patent that allows the retrocompatibility of the hardware with previous consoles. It is a system to be applied in a future machine, PS5, and that allows the CPU of the new console to be able to "interpret" the central unit of the previous machines. The author of the development was Mark Cerny, the architect who designed the PS4 structure, and the patent, which has been filed under number 2019-503013, briefly explains what it consists of.The aim is to make the applications designed for the previous consoles (legacy device) run perfectly on the most powerful hardware, and is focused on eliminating the synchronization errors between the new consoles and the behavior of the previous ones (PS4, PS3, PS2 and PSX). For example, if the CPU of the new console is faster than the previous one, data could be overwritten prematurely, even if they were still being used by another component.Thanks to the new system, PS5 would be able to imitate the behavior of the previous consoles, so that the information that arrives at the different processors is returned in response to the "calls" of the games. The processor is able to detect the needs of each application and behave as if it were the original "brain" of each machine, cheating the software. This technology does not prevent PS5 could also have additional processors to have compatibility with machines whose architecture is difficult to replicate, as in the case of PS2.In this blog you can see the most detailed information of the patent, with the diagrams in Japanese. Che PS5 sarà retrocompatibile ormai è il segreto di pulcinella, ma questo brevetto apre la strada a prospettive interessanti visto che consentirebbe una retro (in teoria) decisamente ampia e non solo con PS4. Speriamo, il fatto che ci sia Cerny dietro dovrebbe essere garanzia di qualcosa di importante 

 
Quella con PS4 è certa, DF si è già espressa a riguardo

 
Madonna, la retrocompatibilità sarebbe il top.  Recuperare titoli che ormai non gioco da anni sarebbe un sogno che si avvera.

A 'sto punto penso proprio che sarà così e Sony in questo modo avrà vinto, per quanto mi riguarda

 
La retrocompatibilità totale sarebbe in grado di hyparmi a bomba, MA soltanto se riguardasse anche il retail...improvvisamente il mio backlog ps2 tornerebbe ad avere senso :asd:  in qualunque altro caso significherebbe solo "spendi di nuovo soldi per cose che già hai", forse con l'unica differenza del dd su ps3...e sono sinceramente diffidente riguardo un'eventualità simile, vedo più probabile un'emulazione fisica solo per ps4 (senza la quale tralaltro la ps5 sarebbe assai meno attraente)

certo se lo facessero davvero secondo me si aprirebbero nuove frontiere, il mondo del retail e dell'usato ne uscirebbe stravolto, senza contare che potrebbero finalmente sostituire i "remaster" con le "ristampe" (sovraprezzate), ma volete mettere? :sard:  e questo senza andare a togliere nulla ai remake, la nuova frontiera (da me assai gradita sinceramente)

Ormai la nuova frontiera è appunto quella dei remake o soft-remake, le remastered senza arte nè parte hanno perso molto appeal e ne perderanno ulteriormente se PS5 sarà retrocompatibile

Retrocompatibilità con il retail PS2 sarebbe addirittura una vittoria totale, ma non credo accadrà.

Probabilmente retro solo con PS4.

Anche solo con PS4 sarebbe una cosa ottima, con le generazioni passate sarebbe overthetoppeh :asd:

MS ha fatto una cosa decente in questa generazione ed è stata, per appunto, la retrocompatibilità :asd:
