Resident Evil 7 exec producer: 'Plans for the next title are already in motion'

Speaking in the final part of Capcom's Resi 7 making of video series, the executive producer Jun Takeuchi reveals that the team at Capcom are already thinking about Resident Evil 8. He says 'Plans for the next title are already in motion, and when you see that game you may find that it is very different from Resident Evil 7 in some ways.' He also makes reference to 'the next Resident Evil game, and the one after that, every future Resident Evil', so it's clear that at least some people at Capcom see the series as still having a long future ahead of it. Takeuchi-san goes on to talk about how Resi will evolve as technology advances, but will still retain the core concept of characters up against the odds. His full remarks are transcribed below:

'As I worked on Resident Evil 7 I wanted it to be seen as a modern masterpiece in survival horror. We want this title to be the start of a new kind of survival horror, and of a new series. We're already thinking about various plans for the next game, but we also want to see how we can continue to evolve survival horror itself. In the next few years technology will continue to advance and what players want may also change but we will always want to create horror experiences where the characters overcome a difficult situation. That to me is what survival horror is all about, and the next resident evil game, and the one after that, every future Resident Evil, will feature characters getting through crises like this. And so the current masterpiece is jut the beginning, whilst still retaining that core survival horror concept of people overcoming the odds. Resident evil will always retain that essence.'

Sono passati 20 anni e lo si dice solo adesso ? :asd:

Se non si sono fermati 10 anni fa quando era necessario non vedo perché farlo adesso, ora che la saga sta risorgendo dalla ceneri e che magari ha di nuovo qualcosa da dire :asd:

per "vacca" intendo il sistema di gioco di RE7 che a quanto pare ha avuto un successo più ampio del previsto, nonostante l'oscena e vergognosa longevità e mancanza di contenuti

Allora torniamo al sistema di COD visto che forse rispetto a qualche anno fa tira meno di quello horror :sisi:

mo non ho capito le lamentele sulla longevità di REVII, mi è sembrato in linea con la maggior parte dei capitoli classici, fast walk comprese. :unsisi:

no quella era la mucca precedente :stema:

che ha dato il latte migliore in RE4, il latte che già iniziava ad essere avariato in RE5 ed è stata uccisa definitivamente con RE6

il 7 mi è piaciuto moltissimo, quindi ben venga un ottavo capitolo :stema:

Non ci avrei scommesso una lira su REVII ma visto che ha soddisfatto e superato le aspettative che si ispirino pure:sisi:.

Nei loro piani avevano già intenzione di aprire la ''terza era'' ufficiale della saga, ovvio che continueranno su questa strada visto l'ottimo successo. E' accaduta la stessa cosa del 4.
