- Three of the gang start as low level members of gangs in Santo Ileso. Kevin is a member of the idols, Neenah is a member of Los Panteros and the Boss is a low level security guard for Marshall. Eli is your info guy (think a mix between Dex from SR1 and Kinzie from TT and IV) You don't begin as a cohesive unit as you did in the last 4 (5) games.
- The stuff already shown (in trailers/gameplay) is the gang at the beginning of the journey, hence the shitty apartment...which is still bigger than my apartment.
- There is improved vehicle combat. You can ram and side sweep other vehicles (Mad Max style) and you can climb out of your vehicle, onto the roof and start shooting for better coverage (the released screenshot shows that and this confirms it is a gameplay mechanic)
- Cash and XP earned and can be used for unlocks (think SRTT style but a bit more involved)
- Melee finishers.
- Upgradeable and customisable HQ (Mission rewards add neat little decorations for HQ)
- The gangs employ different tactics. (Panteros are heavy hitters, Marshall have cool tech weapons like a laser lasso and Icons are more about swarming you with firework grenades and lots of goons)
- Gangs can fight each other and the police in free roam.
- Licensed music isn't yet finalised but some interesting new stations (the setting should be a hint for that) Radio ads are back.
- It also went into a good bit of detail with two of the earlier missions. From the description, it was more along the lines of the lengthier missions from 2 and the more "grounded" missions from TT. Good length to them and a good bit of variety to the mission structure
