Momento no oggi per me

The gameplay is vastly different in mid and endgame than we saw in the last beta. Here is some info about it.
LH’s can be done in a coop group, and usually only unlock 2/3 forts or megafort ports per region. Even skilled players will struggle to solo these “at first….so….with time, soloing them does get easy, rank 11 will help here. But theres an issue, the pve option does NOT unlock the majority of ports, only major ones. If you are anti pvp, you are limited in unlocking the rest.
- With the release date revealed mere days after the last 3 week inside test, Id be surprised if anything changed to an extreme.
- Difficulty This was a big concern last beta. Trust me, its been remedied! There is a lot of difficult content in game now, and previous content very much buffed. Maybe even too much. Its a good thing. Plunders are not much harder, but a LOT of other content is, a lot harder. Forts and mega forts are VERY difficult plunder targets. Many had called for Help from others.
- PVP flag on/off. Sadly this is not a thing. There is no pvp or pve servers either. In fact, a lot of PVE needed equipment comes from pvp only events. This is a major red flag for some pve only players. Want scurlock chasers? Not happening unless you pvp. To me, when OP cannons are locked behind pvp, its no longer “optional”. This may change before release. Tons not happy about that.
- Smugglers den as is now is horrible content. This is where you can make pieces of 8 before endgame starts. But it was so bad that it would take a week to get one cannon, where in the helm, it only took an hour or 2. Did not read a single player speak positively about it. So Ill stop here, as if its unchanged, players wont use it. (All you do is craft rums and transport it, from a special den room that belongs solely to you)
- The “Helm” is postgame content. Adding to plunder mechanics you’re familiar with from Beta, you can now actually take control of factories at these ports (1-5 random port joinable events every 30 min) to generate pieces of 8, soverigns, etc, to trade in for powerful weapons, armor and cosmetics. You can NOT lose the port once you take it over, so dont worry there. You can also level these factories up. These generate revenue over time. Once full, you have to pick the revenue up manually, this can make for very repetitive content, and with more factories, your runs get longer and longer. At any point in pickup runs, you can opt for a Double Or nothing event, twice per day, where you earn x2 the pieces of 8 you picked up IF you make it to the port picked by RNG. However this is a toxic mechanic as it forces PVP on, and like with cutthroat cargo pvp, a group can simply warp to the port waiting for you, over power you and take your 1+ hour run of coins. Its just an opinion, but DoN is not worth doing, you spend 60-90 minutes collecting, only for 3 toxic players to swoop in and spend just 2 minutes to sink you and you lose everything.
- Events to unlock factories in the Helm. There are 2 types as of now. Legendary heists are PVE. Hostile takeovers are PVP.
Which brings us to hostile takeovers (PVP). This is the same as plundering a fort, except pvp is now active. And the first player to reach 100% progress wins the port’s factory. You cannot coop and have “both” players in the party win the fort. (We tried)
This means you are forced to pvp if you want more ports than LHs offer. A lot of insiders white knight this and call it optional, but if you are ok with only having 3 ports per region, while everyone else has 22, then sure, lets continue to call that “optional”.
Cutthroat cargo (pvp)
-Map size The North East of the map is now open, and in total, is about x2 the size of what we had in last beta. It still feels way too small for a full game, but its a step. Perhaps an expansion later will give us more. Ubi did make Anno 1800 too after all, and the size of the map for Anno at release vs now, is about x5 the size. Theres also rumors of yet another 25% of map being added before release, so well see.
- we all know this one from beta. It was the event hardly anyone did. Not just because it was uninteresting for pvp, it didnt offer very much. Well currently, this event is the ONLY method to obtain the best long guns (scurlock chasers) and a unique OP armor piece, to use in pve. So now there is a reason to do it. But this yet again adds an element where some say its optional, yet pve only completionists will refuse to accept that answer. If you want chasers, yet again you are forced into pvp. This “might” change however, as the recipe for chasers DO say they can be obtained from the helm. Don’t weigh heavy on this one, just yet.
- Endgame hunts. This is where Beta shined, and it continued in insider. Instead of soloing these, youll need at least 2/3 people, and for some, even more. For soloers this can be disheartening. Mathematically its nearly impossible solo. One of these hunts, you get hit twice in the tankiest ship possible, and you still die. The dmg must be split between a party. That said the bosses are wonderfully crafted, difficult, and exciting! Easily the best S&B has to offer can be found here. But again, soloers will struggle after the 1.0 (or beta known) bosses. Which is mis leading as all beta content was soloable, and all gear obtainable without pvp. So there is a harsh shift here as endgame unlocks sadly.
- Ship rank means more than actual weapon power. Maybe those 80 powered mortars kill everyone, and the 220 powered cannons suck, but the 220 power cannons means you are rank 11 instead of 10. So now what? Currently….there is a bullshit mitigation system. Each difference in rank between you and an enemy adds or subtracts a whopping 25% increase or decrease in BOTH damage and defense. So by opting to be one rank lower, you now do piss damage, and get killed wayyy faster. There was zero praise from ANY player about this system. Id be surprised if it was not changed, or even removed before release. But heres the heads up just incase.
- Ships. We had 4 more than in beta available. 3 of them, you have seen in beta already, but had no way to unlock. One has a top knot speed of 18, and is used for ramming. Its….fucking awesome. Even out of battle, if you wanna cruise, this ship will get u there fast. Moving on….1 is brand new. Its a healing based ship and it also regenerates party members critical damage (red meter). The other 2, tank and short range fire dps ships are still there (meh) And I say Meh because they are a full natural rank lower than the 2 above, meaning youll need REALLY op gear in order to get them to max rank 11. The first 2 hit 11 fairly easy.
- Text bugs, item bugs, audio…yes audio….bugs bugs bugs, oh my lord, this last phase felt like an early alpha, not even a beta, when it came to bugs in the NorthEast. That being said, I was very shocked to see a release date yesterday.
- Ending notes…Ask any questions. To me, this “endgame” section of the game comes way too early, and not enough content. Not even with the smuggler pass events (season 1 stuff). I love whats here, i love skull and fkin bones big time….but theres some bad things mixed in to it. And those “few” bad things could ruin the whole game for some players, especially the PvP parts, or 3+ player content. My main gripe is how for beta after beta, neither of those were a problem. Yet now. In endgame, suddenly they are, with too many other insiders defending it, as if it was expected (its not)
