Sometimes I would like to hear a Muslim talking about the true meaning of "being a moderate" rather than a non-Muslim talking in their place.
As a consequence, sometimes I do indeed wonder what a moderate Muslim actually is.
Let's assume that hugest majority of Muslims are against the idea of shooting blindly at young people in a concert hall since, as a matter of fact, you don't have to be a radical perform such a crime, you ought to be a subhuman criminal.
Now, out of those 99% of people, how many would prefer sharia law in one form or another to be implemented in our countries? Meaning with this, by replacing or hugely changing our legal systems?
How many would prefer to make illegal, and perhaps with draconian punishments, to say anything "bad" (and the definition of "bad" depends upon who says that) about the Prophet Muhammad?
How many would consider a girl dressed in a short skirt like if she were a prostitute and as such unworthy of the "normal person" status?
How many would rather see homosexuals put in jail or worse? (please notice that this may also happen in a Christian country, namely Uganda or Russia)
How many would let their children free to leave Islam if that's what they want?
How many would consider an apostate worthy of death penalty?
How many do view women as subjected to women?
How many actually view other cultures and/or religion as worthy of protection?
How many actually desire to keep a secular state?
These are the kind of questions I would like to be answered once and for all.
Because if a moderate muslim is someone who hates terrorists but hates atheists aswell, in that case a moderate muslim is still an extremists to me.
If he just wants to pray his god and enjoys the idea of living in a secular state, with everything that comes from it, than we are on the same page.
