Sunrise Animates New City Hunter Film for Spring 2019
Aniplex announced on Monday that it is producing a new anime film adaptation of Tsukasa Hojo's City Hunter manga by animation studio Sunrise, slated for spring 2019.
The new film will move the setting to present-day Shinjuku, and will feature the return of Akira Kamiya as protagonist Ryo Saeba, and Kazue Ikura as heroine Kaori Makimura. Director Kenji Kodama, who has directed most of the previous City Hunter anime, returns as the chief director. Yoichi Kato (Aikatsu!, Yo-kai Watch, Monster Strike the Animation) is penning the script. The teaser video below features the song "Get Wild" by TM Network, the ending theme song for the first City Hunter television anime.
