Lo so.

While the game is mostly about infantry combat, tanks remain the most powerful weapon for ground warfare. Even Claude’s Squad E fields its own tanks, and today we get to meet their crew members and more.
Miles Aabek is voiced in Japanese by Hiroshi Okamoto (Andy Bogart in The King of Fighters XIV) is the pilot of Claude’s tank, the Hafen. They have been together since the times of the academy, and Miles trusts the protagonist as the tank commander and as the highest ranking officer of the squad. His hobby is taking pictures.

Dan Bentley is voiced by Hisao Egawa (Falco Lombardi in the Star Fox series, Cao Ren in the Dynasty Warriors series). He loves cars and has been a member of the Federal Army for a while. After moving from unit to unit, he was assigned to Squad E. He is in charge of the tank pilots and cars and mechanics of the unit. He is a man of few words, but he can be a good friend.

Ronald Albee
is voiced by Atsuki Tani (he is Master Chief in the Japanese dub of the Halo series) is a tank commander belonging to Minerva’s Squad F. Back in the times of the military academy, he was impressed by her chivalrous spirit, and he believes that she will climb to the top of the ranks of the Federal Army.

Like in previous games of the series, tanks use three types of ammo, armor-piercing shells, grenades, and machine guns. Each is effective against different targets. They can also crush defenses simply by ramming them, and they can harmlessly destroy anti-personnel mines.

Armor-piercing shells have a linear trajectory and are designed to penetrate other tanks. Grenades are designed to attack infantry and are shot in a parabolic trajectory. They also explode affecting a large area. Machine guns are effective against nearby infantry positioned in the blind spot of the grenade launcher, and can also intercept during the enemy turn.

Since tanks are very resilient and cannot be easily damaged by infantry besides lancers, they can be used to shield your troops from incoming fire. However, you should be careful not to expose the back of a tank to the enemy, because the ragnite radiator is a tank’s weak spot.

Another common element with previous Valkyria titles is the R&D facility, that can be used to develop new equipment for your soldiers and new parts for your armored vehicles. There are plenty of parts to choose from, but there are limits to what you can equip.

When you create new equipment for your soldiers, you update the equipment of all those who can wear it, increasing the power of the unit as a whole.

Decorating your tank with different stickers has small effects on its performance, and you can change the camo color freely depending on the situation. Parts are fit in a block-based grid like in the original game, and more powerful parts require more blocks.

In the new game you can also use half-track armored personnel carriers. They can transport several soldiers quickly and protect them from intercepting fire. However, if they’re destroyed, their occupants are temporarily withdrawn from combat. It’s also important to remember that their armor is thinner than that of a tank, so they can be damaged by machine gun fire.

:sisi:

Today Sega released a brand new batch of screenshots of the upcoming strategy JRPG Senjou no Valkyria 4: Eastern Front, which will be titled in the west as a more familiar Valkyria Chronicles 4.
This is definitely a tank-centric update, and we get to meet first and foremost the crew members that will man them.

Miles Aabek is a tank driver and a mechanic of Squad E, 32nd Armored Ranger Batallion, 1st Battle Brigade, 101st Division of the Edinburgh Army. He was an honor student at the military academy and Claude’s junior. Back then he was rather restless and made friends with everyone, but had no deep involvements. He majored in tank piloting and maintenance and has a steady arm while driving. He makes a good team with Claude, who he trusts as a commander, and as the person who can draw out the most potential out of a tank. His hobby is photography.

Dan Bentley is an armored troop transport driver and crew supervisor of Squad E, 32nd Armored Ranger Batallion, 1st Battle Brigade, 101st Division of the Edinburgh Army. He loves armored vehicles, and he was a pilot before joining the Federal army. Nobody knows much about him, but he used to be active as a pilot while moving through several units. Maintaining tanks is like a hobby for him, and he’ll repair anything if someone asks. About maintenance, he believes that it’s best if one does everything himself, including refueling. He doesn’t talk much, but he can be a good friend.

Ronald Albee is a lieutenant and tank captain of Squad F, 32nd Armored Ranger Batallion, 1st Battle Brigade, 101st Division of the Edinburgh Army. Since his Captain Minerva doesn’t command from an armored vehicle, he serves as commander of the unit’s tank. He used to be her junior at the academy and had a crush on her chivalrous spirit and strong willpower. Ronald also respects her because she gathered the members of her squad and made it into an elite unit. He believes she will climb to the top ranks of the federal army.

Tanks have very high offensive and defensive power. They receive almost no damage from infantry other than lancers unless weak spots are targeted, so they can act as a mobile defense to protect allies. However, since the ragnite radiatior behind a tank is a weak spot, it can be damaged by ordinary guns. It’s necessary to pay attention so that the enemy doesn’t get behind your tank.

Vehicles, in general, can destroy protections like sandbags and can crush anti-personnel mines without damage, but they will be seriously damaged if they drive over anti-tank ones.

Half-track armored troop transports have a command that allows them to carry infantry. They can transport more than one soldier, protecting them from interception fire. The “Carry” command can be used both in command mode and action mode. Since they’re not as armored as tanks, they can be slightly damaged by machine gun fire. If your armored troop transport is destroyed, all the soldiers it’s carrying will be withdrawn from the battlefield.

Tanks have three different attacks. Armor-piercing bullets can penetrate the thick armor of a tank and have a straight trajectory. Grenades are designed to attacking infantry and unarmored targets. They draw a parabolic trajectory and explode affecting a large area. Machine guns are suitable to attack infantry that got too close and is in the blind spot of grenades. They can also perform interception fire. Armored troop transports can be equipped only with machine guns.

At the R&D Center players can develop new equipment for Squad E. Infantry equipment such as rifles, machine guns, and armor is mass-produced and can be equipped by all of your soldiers of a certain class once researched.

You can also enhance the performance of vehicles by developing parts. You can strengthen guns and armor, and additional elements like suspensions, weak point protection, and attack support. Although certain optional parts are very effective, each has a set size, and only a limited amount can be fit on a vehicle. Since you cannot equip everything at once, you have to balance size and position according to the situation.

Claude’s Hafen can be decorated with stickers that will slightly improve performance. In addition, the color scheme of each vehicle can be changed depending on the situation.

You can enjoy the gallery below. If you want to see more, you can check out the first gameplay, a recent trailer showcasing the crossover DLC with the first game, another showing a wide range of gameplay features, the previous batch of screenshots and information, the first trailer, more screenshots, more artwork and info, and the first gallery of images.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 will release both in North America and Europe for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in 2018. It will launch in Japan for PS4 on March 21st, 2018 and for Nintendo Switch later in the summer.

Una serie di info relativamente a ciò che si vede negli scan, con i 4 personaggi e il rompighiaccio.

Technically, the Centurion is a “snow cruiser” built to sail on frozen terrain, able to break the ice with its powerful hull. It’s like a giant ice-treading tank with a 230 meters-long hull.
We also meet four relevant members of the crew.

Mary Bennett
(voiced by Hiroko Ushida, who voices Lu Lingqi in recent Dynasty Warriors games) is a sergeant and radio operator aboard the Centurion. She has a calm “older sister” aura and a gentle smile. She is also a hard worker who often helps with cleaning and doing chores around the ship. Her special skill is cooking.

Rufu (voiced by Shino Shimoji, who plays Pyra in Xenoblade Chronicles 2) graduated from the naval academy, she is the firing control operator on the Centurion. Like many Darcsens, she has a serious personality. Her tone is often harsh and she doesn’t have many friends, but she is in good terms with Marie.

Brian Haddock (voiced by Takuya Kirimoto, who plays Zhuge Dan in the Dynasty Warriors series) is a lieutenant and the Chief Navigator of the Centurion. He’s rather nervous and difficult to approach. He also sees the army with contempt due to his views of supremacy of the fleet, which often causes him to clash with Claude.

Roland Morgan (played by veteran Michihiro Ikemizu, who many will remember as the AWACS Oka Nieba in Ace Combat 5, but his career traces all the way to Onsen-sensei in Urusei Yatsura) is the captain of the Centurion and his rank is Captain (duh). Currently a kind and calm man, he was often known as the “Demon Captain.” He is the moral pillar of the crew and never loses his composure even during a crisis.

During battles the player will be able to use the “Ship Order” option to receive support from the Centurion. It’s very powerful, but there is a limit on the number of times it can be used in each scenario. The type and number of these options can be improved via the R&D center.

The Radar ship order is available from the start. It locates undiscovered enemies on the map, and the current position of those that have previously disappeared from sight.

The naval artillery order damages enemies within an area by bombarding them with the ship’s guns. The player can specify the area to target on the map.

Vehicle repair allows you to bring a damaged armored unit back to working conditions after it was damaged on the battlefield and forced to withdraw. Normally, you wouldn’t be able to use it during the same mission, but this ship order gives you a second chance.

Rescue unit lets you restore the HP of a single friendly soldier by using the field ambulance from the Centurion. Soldiers that have fallen and are dying can also be rescued and evacuated to the ship, preventing their permanent loss.

CenturionThis time around, it’s all about the Snow Cruiser Centurion that will play a central role in the story. It’s a ship that the Edinburgh Army of the Atlantic Federation built secretly to win its decisive battle.

Three ships of the same class were built, and the Centurion is the second. It’s capable to sail on ice fields, and its tremendous momentum can crush the ice under its hull. It’s basically like a giant 230 meters-long dreadnought. It’s capable of navigation on land thanks to technology provided by the Vinland Conglomerate, details of which are considered one of the most closely guarded national secret.

In battle, the player can use the special orders named “Ship Orders” in command mode in order to receive support from the Centurion. In the Research & Development facility, it’s possible to develop new types of support that the ship can provide. Improving the hull and equipment, it’s also possible to power-up performance and the number of usable ship orders per battle. Since their use is limited and don’t recover until a mission ends, timing is crucial.

Radar can reveal undiscovered enemies within a certain range, alongside those who have left the player’s field of view. It’s the first ship order available from the beginning.

Artillery Bombardment can be aimed at a certain area of the map, damaging enemy within its range.

Rescue Unit sends a field ambulance to heal a unit, or to recover soldiers that have fallen and are about to die, preventing their permanent loss.

Vehicle emergency repair does what it says on the tin, restoring a damaged vehicle that has been withdrawn from the field.

We also meet four relevant members of the Centurion’s crew.

Roland Morgan

Roland Morgan is a Captain of the Edinburgh Navy, and commanding officer of the Centurion. He is a moral pillar for the crew due to his warm and gentle attitude that isn’t shaken even during a crisis. Yet, in the past, he was considered extremely strict, and he was feared as “the demon captain.” He used to be strict with both himself and others, with sharp words during emergencies. During that period, he lost his ship, and he is determined not to let the Centurion be sunk.

Brian Haddock

Brian Haddock is a Lieutenant of the Edinburgh Navy and Chief Navigator of the Centurion. At times he appears somewhat nervous and unapproachable, but deeper inside, he is calm and able to provide good judgment. He is respected , and supports Captain Morgan with whom he has shared many battlefields since his first mission, basically acting like a second in command. He looks down on the army due to his beliefs of naval supremacy, and this causes his opinion to collide with Claude’s.

Mary Bennett

Mary Bennett is a Sergeant of the Edinburgh Navy, and radio operator of the Centurion. A woman with a calm atmosphere, she is always smiling, and she is considered “everyone’s elder sister.” Being a very hard worker, she is often seen laboring beyond her duties, including cleaning and cooking aboard the ship. Incidentally, she is a very good cook.

Rafu

Rafu is a Sergeant of the Edinburgh Navy, and the firing control operator of the Centurion. A talented woman who graduated from the Navy Training School skipping a year, she has a tremendous talent in operating the most technologically-advanced equipment, and the recognition of her skills caused her to be assigned to the Centurion. She is extremely serious, and often conversation with her is difficult. Yet, she is in good terms with Mary.
