As Adult Link, stepping on the ice where Lord Jabu Jabu was during Young Link's trip to Zora's Domain in a certain way will trigger a glitch and transport Adult Link to the "Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly" dungeon. The dungeon remains fully explorable, but no new chests appear, nor does the boss and miniboss.

Foreshadowing

Walter Sullivan, the game's antagonist, was actually foreshadowed in Silent Hill 2. Walter is first mentioned in a newspaper scrap citing how he killed twins Billy and Miriam Locane, and then killing himself promptly after. This is referenced heavily in the plot of Silent Hill 4, not to mention that the enemy "Twin Victims" are personifications of the twins.

Secret hard mode

After beating the fishing mini-game, it's possible to play a harder version of it by inputting a secret code in front of the Fisherman: Left, Left, Right, Right, Left, Left, Right, Right, X. This version is considerably harder and has no score limit - the game continues until the player misses 20 pounds of fish or catches a poisonous eel. This secret was found nearly 20 years after the game's release.

File name

Within the game's files is an arrangement of "Tifa's Theme" from Final Fantasy VII, presumably having been used to test out the game's soundfont before implementing any original music.

News inside the world

One of the news articles and forum posts that appear in the game talk about the announcement of a new nonexistent handheld device from Bandai called the "WonderHawk", touted as the successor to the also nonexistent device the "WonderSwan Revolution". In reality, the only new models Bandai made after the original WonderSwan were the WonderSwan Color and the SwanCrystal. All three were originally meant to be competitors to the Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance and all three were outsold by them, leading to the WonderSwan's discontinuation in 2003 the year after this game's release in Japan.

In The PlayStation magazine interview with the game's art designer Kazuma Kaneko, he was asked about how the game's title 'Sin' (Persona 2: Innocent Sin) and the main theme of 'rumors' tied together in the game's story. He responded: "My definition of “rumor” is when a person makes a judgment based on their own preconceptions and prejudices, and then recklessly disseminates that to the wider world. When that stuff circulates and circulates, you know… it could eventually become a sin. Even though we never intentionally think we’re committing a sin, I bet in our everyday lives this kind of thing happens a lot. A careless comment you make could have a major impact on someone else’s life. Those ideas are intertwined with the story of Persona 2."

That name

Dongorongo's name is most likely a cross between "Dodongo" and "Goron" because it possesses the lizard-like body of a Dodongo, and the rock-formations of a Goron. The name is also one letter off from Rongorongo, a mysterious script found on stone tablets on Easter Island, perhaps owing to the tribal nature of the Gorons.
