Asterix sprite artist Masaaki Kukino visited France while doing market research for the game, and visited the Parc Astérix theme park while he was there. He has claimed to be very proud of the fact that the game was so faithful to the comics that some French Asterix fans believed the game to have been made by French people.

In Konquest Mode, remaining idle on dialogue screens at certain points will cause a monk towards the bottom of the screen to break the fourth wall; turning around to look at the player and shrugging before resuming his original position.

Sonic Adventure 2

During the cut-scene where Sonic, Tails, and Amy discuss Eggman blasting a hole in the moon, there is a sign in the background which references NiGHTS from another SEGA series, Nights into dreams.

Metroid Prime 3 Corruption

In 2005, rumors spread of a new side-scrolling Metroid game known as "Metroid Dread". The original version of this game never materialized, although it would be developed and released for the Nintendo Switch in 2021.

However, in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, scanning a computer screen in game reveals the message "Experiment status report update: Metroid project 'Dread' is nearing the final stages of completion.", most likely a nod to Metroid Dread.

Metroid Fusion is one of only a few Game Boy Advance games to have a save battery through an SRAM chip in its cartridge, though this would only appear in earlier-produced carts, as the SRAM chip was scrapped from use halfway through production in favor of a battery-free EPROM chip.

Oversight

If the player manages to scan the projectiles that the Omega Pirate fires, the description will consist of placeholder text that reads "This is an Elite Space Pirate" on the first page and "Elite Space Pirate description 3" on the second. Not only does the later Japanese release retain this oversight, but it also introduces a second one, in that the placeholder text is still in English.

The King of Fighters 94

Kyo's girlfriend, Yuki, appears in the background of the Japan stage along with his motorcycle. The game was initially going to feature an intro sequence of Kyo where he would drive through the streets on his bike and an animation sequence where Yuki would appear when Kyo is defeated. These ideas were not featured in the final game.

Exploit

One exploit to gain more coins is to use Luigi’s hammer to change Mario into Mini Mario, then make Luigi attempt to perform a High Jump. If you have Mario jump up when Luigi is above Mario, he will strike Luigi from below and it will cause Luigi to produce a coin as if he was a block. New coins can be acquired based on how much HP Luigi has and will stop once he’s at 1 HP.

Copies of this game got all the way to UK retailers before they were found to be missing their BBFC age rating stamp.

As this was a legal requirement at the time, none of the copies could be sold and had to be sent back, delaying the game's release.

Fail Safe

The games have a fail-safe mechanism where if 10 invalid dungeon maps are generated consecutively, the algorithm gives up and generates a floor-wide monster house instead. The earliest usage of this is in Mt. Steel 4F.
