Hey there heroes!
We’ve got a lot of information about the game in this update, so let’s get to it! We have an important message from Murayama-san, but before that, a little housekeeping. We are restructuring the layout of the Kickstarter updates going forward, in hopes that it will provide information more clearly, now that we’re going to be including much more tasty info in the updates.
We’ll be separating the page into two sections: Production Updates, and Important Backer Notifications. Production Updates will feature your standard fare of behind-the-scenes art, music, videos, and creator insight on the ongoing development of Eiyuden Chronicle. Meanwhile, Important Backer Notifications will largely revolve around logistical issues, such as surveys, the legacy backer store, and any other announcements regarding Kickstarter itself.
And with that, here’s a very important message from Murayama-san!

Murayama’s Message

It’s always hard to announce a delay, but we wanted to be transparent with you backers about the reasons behind it, and we wanted to make sure all of you knew about this as soon as it was clear that production would need more time, due to the large amount of content we are currently creating.
What this means is we are looking at a delay, rather than the previously announced October 2022 release. Rest assured, we’ll be sure to update all of you as soon as we have more specifics.

Important Backer Notifications

Backer Discord Roles

At this point, we’ve done an initial pass on doling out Backer-exclusive discord roles to backers in our community that are already active on our official Discord server. There are, however, still plenty of you that have yet to join our Discord.
We’ll be sending out an email soon to all of you that still need to claim your backer exclusive Discord role. All you have to do once you get that email is join our Official Discord here, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Of course, if you’ve already joined the Eiyuden Chronicle Discord, you don’t have to do anything at all!

Finding Your Backer Number (Updated!)

In the “Fulfillment Store Clarification” update, we listed steps on how to access your backer number. Some of that information was incorrect, so we wanted to post updated instructions.
  1. To access your backer id and survey head over to Kickstarter and login.
  2. Once you are logged in, click on your account image in the top right of the website, and choose “Profile” from the drop down. From there you can see a list of your “Backed” projects”.
  3. Click on Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. When that page loads there should be text at the top saying “You backed this project”.
  4. Click the link that says “View Pledge”. From there you can find a receipt of your pledge as well as your backer number at the very bottom.

A young man with an unhealthy obsession with rune-lenses. His glasses are fitted with a miniature rune-lens, and he has a slight stoop despite his tall, skinny build.
Code L usually speaks slowly and softly—but bring up rune-lenses and he'll talk your ear off! He knows a great deal about them, to be sure, but he tends to recommend the rare and unwieldy ones. His dream is to invent an artificial rune-lens. In some ways, his research there surpasses the Galdean Empire's.
"Hmm...? Uh...can I help you? OH! You're here to talk LENSES?! Well, ha! Which one of my little goddesses can I tell you about today?"
Kawano’s Comment:
A tall, nerdy, bespectacled youth who slouches a lot. At least, that was the image I had in my mind when I went to draw him. Unfortunately, he ended up looking too bright and cheerful. I thought to myself, “Ah crap, I’m gonna have to redraw this,” but then a voice from the heavens saved me. The voice said, “Hey now, that’s not a bad option either.” That voice saved me. I was able to survive by the skin of my teeth.
Small glasses with lenses. That’s the key.

Talk about a fish out of water! This scare-craft doesn't even bother landing before laying on the hurt. Some claim it flies faster than the speed of sound.

Murayama’s Monthly Development Report

Recently, I’ve finally managed to overcome a huge hurdle regarding the scenario.
I was able to finish the overall plot that connects the story from the beginning to the end.
While the script and lines still need to be written, the overall plan depicting what will happen and who will meet who has been completed.
Of course, in order to proceed with this, each scene will have to have a more concrete image visualized. What kind of expressions will Nowa, Seign, or Marisa make? What choices will they encounter? What decisions will they come to? I will keep these things in mind as I narrow down the story to its final form.
There will be times where things won’t go so smoothly. When that happens, I’ll take a step back and reevaluate everything that led up to that point. Reexamining the setting of those scenes and the emotions behind the characters as they made their decisions. However, these setbacks make the times where things do line up that much sweeter. It really is a joy when things pan out perfectly.
However, there are times where I’ll be stuck for days on end without knowing which direction to go with the story. When that happens, I always end up taking a long bath, wracking my brain thinking about the problem at hand. I get so focused during these times that I often forget how long I stay in the tub. It never is fun when that happens.
Regardless, I was able to create a general storyboard. Now all that’s next is to expand on everything and fine tune it all.

Golden Week Comment

Murakami:
I wasn’t able to go on my anticipated overseas trip this golden week either. I thought for sure that this was the year, but things never worked out.
For those that live in Japan, were you able to have a good golden week?
I spent my golden week working...and repeatedly looking up my “What-I-Would-Be-Doing-Right-Now-Overseas Masterplan” on Google Earth.
I purchased an ultra-wide monitor this year, so it almost felt as if I were actually there.
Did you know that Google Earth has live feeds of things like the wildlife in Africa?
Google is so cool! It’s almost like...
This is the future~
There are times when no animals are visible, and you only hear random animal cries lol. To me, that kind of adds a realness to it.
And even with all of that, there were many days where my stress levels were turned to eleven.
I was approaching my limit, so I spent the latter half of golden week driving around the peninsula in my beloved car.
Even though it was through my car’s windows, experiencing things in-person really is the best.
Man, travelling really is the best. Next year for sure I’ll go overseas!
Ah..wait.
Next year is crunch time for my project...
-J. Murakami
Komuta:
Hello everyone. I hope you’re having a komu-tastic day.
It’s me, Komuta.
Golden week is a series of holidays in May that began many years ago in Japan...
This month, each member was asked to share how they spent their holidays.
Well, usually I would be out travelling somewhere. However, this year I spent the holidays applying the visualized flow of the actual gameplay of the scenario plot that Mr. Murakami gave, then organizing what it would look like.
Of course, on top of that, I spent the days running, zoning out at home, and catching up on the anime that I recorded.
But the craziest thing happened during golden week. On a whim, I tweeted out a picture...and became an overnight sensation lol.
This was the first time in my entire life that any of my tweets picked up attention. The notifications were endless. It goes without saying that it was a golden week that I’ll never forget.
Because of this experience, I’m forever indebted to the great and mighty Yabun.
↓ This is the picture I tweeted:
A24BMkWLTX_3sSmc4tcnxgfASZ1r9D1zg4ezM21OZ8TtAGgCX44xAmXB_lqyy9LZGgdsSz-QYmmic1lzRWhZafEUmSDOL1zr7far4xeqKgIRwBfIHox08c698vrkhLRFiB-ObtNLLZ1qA-W6_XnzwmoYWJ9-7UC-xcWKAWUj0r_FJl2JtxiQu8CrANFAbEG_6adjA1StiZ0PZO5FrTtizXfxjGQvbrG5vOYHPYkojbJ3rHLZnXruQ4by1Dn9EW2B2WeSLcVCcAeNM6UPcsONnnhppmdGNxAfm-ZX2m1o=s0-d-e1-ft

So, I couldn’t go outside much during the holidays, but once Eiyuden is complete, I will most definitely go on a trip somewhere far, far away!
Kawano:
Golden week is usually around the time when seasonal allergies calm down a bit, but I’m still hesitant to go outside and see for myself. The weather is so nice though...
So, instead, I spent my golden week working as usual. Next year is the year where I make up my time off! Well before that I still have summer and fall. I’ll take some time off then as well!

For backers only

Hey there heroes!
So, normally we wouldn’t put out another update so soon, but we had some information we couldn’t wait to share with everyone!
As some of you may have seen, we showed off Eiyuden Chronicle Rising at the Microsoft E3 conference and talked about both games arriving on Xbox Game Pass.
We know that an announcement like this can make people a little nervous about whether the game will still be released on their console of choice, and we wanted to reassure everyone that the game will arrive on every major console at the same time, as promised!
Here’s a message from Murayama-san, leader of Rabbit & Bear, explaining what this entails for the backers:
A Message about the Game Pass contract and new DLC
A new Eiyuden Chronicle trailer with some new gameplay footage was revealed at E3! I hope all of our backers enjoyed it!
I'd like to give a comment on the Game Pass deal with Microsoft that was announced at the show and give a big surprise report to everyone.
We at R&B Studios started this project to create Eiyuden Chronicle the way we would like it to be. We are not a big game company and started from almost nothing. So we needed a solution to secure the IP to our own game, and gain development funding while keeping that IP.
So, we approached our backers through crowdfunding, and all of you showed your support in a big way.
Of course, the $4million+ raised is a huge amount of money. The development of a game requires a lot of money, especially in the RPG genre, which makes it difficult to create new titles. We were continuing negotiations and efforts to secure funding even after the Kickstarter campaign ended.
Our success on Kickstarter was not just about funding: it also gave us confidence that we have so many passionate fans supporting us. As the result of all your support, we were able to secure a partnership with 505 Games.
This is exactly what we were hoping for, and 505 Games has never intervened in our creative process on developing Eiyuden Chronicle.
And now, we have received a huge offer from Microsoft to join Game Pass.
We decided to accept this offer and we believe this will ultimately be a positive push which will move the project of Eiyuden Chronicle forward. We are aiming to make Eiyuden Chronicle an enjoyable title for a long period of time.
We've already announced that we'll be releasing “Seign's story” as DLC1 and “Marisa's story” as DLC2 at regular intervals following the release of the main game. And with the Game Pass deal, we promise our backers that we will continue to enhance the quality and the content of Eiyuden Chronicle, while at the same time, giving back to you in a more tangible way.
The project of Eiyuden Chronicle, which you have nurtured with your kind support, is now ready to give its fruits back to you.
This was initially planned and the project was once cancelled due to funding reasons. But we are pleased to announce to you that we are creating “DLC3”!
We want this DLC to symbolize the fact that Eiyuden Chronicle was started thanks to the enthusiastic support of the backers. DLC3 will be created in collaboration with you!
And of course, we will add this DLC3 as a reward for all backers.
We hope that you will be happy with this plan.
To ensure the longevity of Eiyuden Chronicle, we are also planning online content which will help you enjoy the game for a long period of time.
We would like to thank all of you for your continued support and encouragement on Eiyuden Chronicle.
Rabbit&Bear Studios
Yoshitaka Murayama
Backer Selected DLC
As Murayama-san mentioned, one of the most exciting things we are able to do with Microsoft’s support is offer a third DLC pack to give for free to all backers! And in keeping with the theme of appreciating your support, as you are the ones who helped us create this game in the first place, we will be working together with you in choosing what type of DLC gets released.
DLC Schedule
We are fully focused on the main game, and so we can’t commit to a specific timeline for the release of the DLC at this point in time. However, the current plan is to try and release said DLC at regular intervals following the release of the main game.
That’s all for now, but as always, we’d like to thank all of our backers for your support!
If you have any questions regarding the campaign, then you can reach us at (pr@rabbitandbearstudios.com). Or, if you have any questions regarding merchandise or the legacy backers’ store, then please contact the Yetee team at (eiyuden@theyetee.com). We will also continue to check in on backers’ comments from time to time, too!

Semplicemente meraviglioso. Contento che MS abbia voluto dargli uno spazio all'E3.

Torna sui tuoi passi :coosaa:

No, sul serio.
Ti stai precludendo una saga splendida per una ragione che poi pad alla mano viene da se.

Hey there heroes!
Welcome to our June monthly update!
Some of you may have seen it already, but we’ve started work on role distribution on Discord! In addition, as a bonus reward attached to backer Discord roles we have created several special Discord channels. These will enable backers to suggest, discuss, and vote on many Eiyuden Chronicle community features, such as upcoming events and official collectible merchandise that can be won or included in community giveaways.
We’re currently using a Discord bot that will authenticate your registered backer email and then allow you to choose one of the three main roles thereafter. If you are a backer then please visit https://eiyudendiscord.com/ and fill out the registration form to receive your backer roles on Discord.
For those of you who are registered for a Noble role, this is also available to you! Please note, for backers who did not pledge at a $1000 tier or higher but did end up pledging $1000 or more via a combination of lower tiers and add-ons, we will need to assign your role manually. Please send us an email at pr@rabbitandbearstudios.com to receive your noble role or if your backer email is not found when you attempt to register it for a Discord role. This may take some time, so please be patient and we will add you ASAP!

Wyler

HOME: The League of Nations AGE: 22
FAVORITE FOOD: Vegetable juice
They say this skilled hunter never misses his mark. Wyler would prefer a life of peace, but he has made an oath to take up bow or whatever else to protect his little sister, Marin. Their parents have passed on, but Wyler refuses to tell Marin how they died.
"All I want is to live in peace. If Marin is happy, then there's nothing more I could ask for."
Kawano’s Comment:
Marin’s older brother, the archer. His design was pretty much decided beforehand, so I was able to draw him as I saw fit. There are sibling characters here and there, so I was able to see the similarities and differences while designing them. It’s been really fun.

Murayama's Monthly Development Report

This month, there were new things shown at the E3 showcase. It took a lot of work to put all of that together. It’s been a tough month.
At this point in time, there isn’t a lot that I can show you. However, our development team worked extra hard in making a video for us.
Eiyuden: Hundred Heroes has been a completely different beast to work on compared to all the different projects I’ve been on throughout my career. Those projects usually had their announcements around the end phase. Which meant there were a lot of resources to use for videos and most of the project has already taken shape.
But in Eiyuden’s case, it started on Kickstarter. Everything moves much quicker. We started the project running and haven’t really stopped since, announcing things as quickly as we finish them.
We’ve had some difficult times because of that.
There is, however, some merit to this way of doing things. We’re able to collect lots of feedback from the very beginning.
Of course, the final say and what kind of product we want to create lies solely on our shoulders, but it’s exciting hearing everyone’s opinions and feedback.
I would have never guessed everyone loved the shark that much.
There’s still a long road ahead of us, but I’m sure it will be an enjoyable one with everyone by our side.

A Word from the Team

KS June’s Comment: Kawano
I apologize for not writing recently. It’s me, the character illustrator rep, Kawano.
Eiyuden’s prequel, Eiyuden: Rising, was just announced the other day.
This story takes place in the same world as Eiyuden, so some of the characters can be seen on a... business trip... coming from the main series.
Because of this, although the release is still down the road, I’ve been busy drawing a lot of characters that appear in Rising.
And well, there was that one character that appeared in the announcement trailer. There were a lot of things that I struggled with regarding that character, and I thought now would be a good time to complain about it, but the trailer was over in an instant, so I’ll save my comments for a later time. ^^;
So, stay tuned for more details in future reports!
...well, maybe I’ll show you all just a little, just a liiiiitle bit. A silhouette.
Laters!

Important Backer Notifications

Slacker Backer Store Closing

Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and so we are announcing the closure of the slacker backer store on August 28th, 2021. This is largely because the growing number of backers is becoming harder to manage logistically and the team would like to focus more of their energy on driving the development of the game towards completion.
Rest assured, this is NOT the legacy backer store, which will continue to stay open! Any current backers will still have the option to buy add-ons from the legacy backer store.
So be sure to spread the word, in case you have any friends, family or pets that would like to join the ranks of our backer heroes over the next month!

Join the Discord

We have been working hard distributing our three main discord roles alongside the special Noble backer role, and are working through any open customer service issues relating to this. Discord roles are handled through a bot that will send an email to the one you listed on your kickstarter survey, so be sure to keep an eye on it!
Because Discord is a way to chat directly with the creators of Eiyuden Chronicle, participate in a wide variety of fun discord games, discuss anything related to Eiyuden Chronicle, and accrue points that can later be used to purchase cool merchandise, the more heroes we can gather on the discord, the stronger the community becomes! And so, we will be sending a reminder email to everyone who has not joined us there yet after this update.
We know not everyone wants to participate via discord, however, so if you are not interested in receiving these notifications you can ignore or delete the email and we will not send any future notifications about Discord. Otherwise, if you are interested please do opt in so we can keep you updated properly.

Character Profile

Ormond
7f8ed0ba44f760126c02002d2d250f57_original.png

RACE: The Dwarves
GENDER: Male
AGE: 36
FAVORITE FOOD: Omelet
This dwarven miner's oversized pack is crammed with every possible tool he might need for the job. Ormond has keen ears and can locate ore just by striking the rock with his hammer and listening to the hum. However, he sometimes makes it seem like everything has to happen on the double. "Right, we'll pitch the tent here, and a hammock here. Oh, and if we'll be toiling here awhile, we must build a proper stove. Aye, with a little elbow grease, we'll be up and running within the hour!"
Kawano’s Comment:
In the first stages of the design process, I gave Ormond more attributes typically associated with dwarves and submitted a rough sketch of Ormond with a bushy, unkempt beard. But the team quickly pointed out that his meticulous personality would mean he’d most likely keep his beard neatly braided and wear colors that would mask the dirt on his clothes.
So here is the cleaner and more presentable version of him. What do you think?

Background Concept Art

Murakami’s Comment:
We still can’t reveal much, but here are some early images of the Empire and the Allied Forces’ camps.
Things often get changed, but we thought you’d enjoy seeing the differences between the production process and the final product.
I’m an avid camper myself, so I always feel a sense of excitement when I see the progress of the tent designs.

Murayama's Monthly Development Report

My story-writing process begins by having a general overarching plot which I then insert characters into. Afterwards, I try to explore what the characters would do or think within the setting they’re in.
I believe that a story revolves around the characters in it and its ultimate goal is to tell their life stories—through the thoughts that they have and the choices that they make. So I always put a lot of effort into making sure a character’s particular point of view accurately drives their actions. I feel characters lose their integrity when they end up doing things they wouldn’t normally do for the sole purpose of moving the plot.
Once I have a general plot going, I often find that some of my characters will go and do things that surprise me. Moments like that are a thrill to see, and I always end up giving those characters more screen time.
But when a character says a line that’s so true to their very being, it really moves me, and I get so into it that I end up acting out the scenes in my head.
I think assembling a group of characters that are so grounded and true to who they are, then seeing how they interact with one another is what really makes an intriguing story.
I can’t wait for all of you to meet these characters. Sometimes they give me so much trouble and other times so much joy.

A Word from the Team

Hello everyone. I hope you’re having a komu-tastic day.
It’s me, Komuta.
J wrote about it in the last update, but time really does fly! Too fast in fact!
The rainy season just ended in Japan and summer is in full swing! (I really don’t want to believe that half of the year is already over.)
I have been busy creating the world map for Eiyuden, based on the plot Murayama’s created.
Story, planning, design, programming—a lot of people in different departments are working in parallel with one another, which can sometimes cause delays.
One of my main duties is to make the final call on things so we don’t have any setbacks, but I just can’t pull myself away from working on the world map—even though I still have a ton of other decision-making calls to make... ^ ^;
Using some of the more finalized elements of the plot, I’ve come up with a rough idea for the map, and have been brainstorming with Murayama to fill in the gaps.
“There’s a village northwest of the town Perrier is in, and I want to put a dungeon southwest of that village.”
“That dungeon should also be southwest of the town where Perrier is located.”
Just when we think we’ve laid down the concrete foundations, we’ll get a message like:
“There isn’t any terrain warding off this area, but you won’t be able to access it until you reach a certain point of the story.” Sometimes, we’ll get directions that seem almost like a riddle, too!: “If you have the proper requirements, you can move forward with the design.” Other times, we’ll be given a keyword out of nowhere like “massive forest.” But with each new piece of information, the world map begins to take shape, piece by piece—a bit like Neo Atlas! (I love Neo Atlas. I hope they come out with a new one soon...)
It’s just so exciting to create the world map for an RPG game.
Murayama usually gives me the fundamental details from a story and game design perspective. After adding towns and dungeons, we go to J and the designers to discuss how we want the locations to look and feel—for example, “I want the view from this spot to have more impact.” Once we start to see the larger picture, everyone gets more and more hyped—"I want to take a stroll around this world! I want to go on an adventure!”
And that brings us back to the sweltering heat of summer. Here’s a little something to combat the heat, my Cold Tomato and Tuna Pasta (extra garlic)! It’s easy to make, tasty, and really good for you! Give it a try!

I hope you all take good care of yourself and let’s get through this summer together.
We appreciate your continued support!

Eiyuden Anniversary: Thank you for 1 year!

A message from Yoshitaka Maruyama
A whole year has already passed since we started this crazy Kickstarter campaign. Looking back on it now, I think the excitement of it all was way too much (lol).
But, you illuminated a path for us, and this year, we’ve been working to achieve the lofty goal waiting at its end! So thank you!!!!
From Junko Kawano
It’s been a year already…!
I’m still coming up with character designs every day and sometimes I wonder if it’ll ever end…
Which is why I have to ask you guys to wait just a little longer until we get this finished!
With all your support, I’m able to keep pushing forward every day!
Thank you all so much.
From Junichi Murakami
One year has passed since we started this Kickstarter, but every day of it has been spent thinking about Eiyuden Chronicle.
From a production standpoint, we wondered how to best use the funds you’ve given us to meet everyone’s expectations.
“How should we go about collecting any extra funds we need?”
“When will we need to onboard more staff?”
And so on and so forth… We were always scrambling with the mountain of things we needed to do.
Then from an art direction standpoint, we’ve rebuilt the prototype based on how the actual game is going to play. Creating graphic structures and images that are stable enough has been a daily back and forth of trial and error.
We lose our daylight hours negotiating ideals and compromises, while our evenings are dedicated to creating resources.
“How can I be this busy?! We’re running out of time! Will I ever get any rest?!” ...pretty much sums up the past year for me.
But I don’t regret it a single bit.
Probably because I know there are people out there who will enjoy what we create.
So lately, I’ve found myself thinking about how glad I am that we did a Kickstarter in the first place.
I’m sorry to keep all of our supporters waiting, but I’m going to keep doing my best every day. So, please keep rooting for me!
From Osamu Komuta
Can you believe it’s already been a year since the Kickstarter campaign last July?
That was the moment we started working towards making our dream of Eiyuden Chronicle a reality.
The passion I felt from everyone during that campaign still burns in me now.
Especially during our closing stream. The excitement we felt from everyone was off the charts.
Thank you so much! Please continue supporting us!
Now, to figure out a way to include footballfish merpeople... I need to seriously consider just making them a hero!

Hey there heroes!
Summer is in full swing, temperatures are soaring and so is the excitement for our next content update! Let’s just jump right in!

Production Updates

Character Profile

Cassandra
99e0645fa86276705e92235ac154e240_original.png

Profession: The elves
Gender: Female
AGE: ?
FAVORITE FOOD: Wine from Bronni
For an innkeep, you'd think Cassandra would at least try to feign industriousness, but she always comes across as a bit languid. Still, that doesn't stop her from tugging at the heartstrings of the boys, who are never quite sure what part of her they're allowed to look at.
Cassandra hails from an elven town, though it's not clear why she left.
"Oh... yawn Welcome. Aren't you a cutie. Staying the night? I have a fine wine that's just begging to be...mm hm hmm...uncorked."
Kawano’s Comment:
While coming up with her design, I had imagined her as a voluptuous elf who had a nurturing side to her, like that of an elder sister. She’d be able to drink anyone under the table but still have the patience to run an inn; while having the finesse to discern her patrons’ unique quirks with a single glance. I was requested to give her some sort of accessory on her head that would indicate where she was from. It seems there might be a backstory to these here.

Monster Showcase

Golem Pulverizer

This rune golem variant has been sighted in the Runebarrows. If you see a pair of massive, meat-grinder arms hurtling toward you—congratulations, you've found it! The working theory is that it's powered by a lens.

Murayama's Monthly Development Report

My main task right now is to finalize the story which means coming up with the general dialogue as well as locations (including what happens in each place). This month, I’m tackling Chapter 3—I say Chapter 3, but we still haven’t decided how many chapters the game will contain or whether it’ll even consist of chapters, but in terms of script writing, I’m just over the first hump after the opening.
In the process of writing, you can end up with unexpected dilemmas—forcing characters who haven’t made an appearance in the story yet to suddenly show up or giving minor characters a major part to play in the plot.
When creating a character’s profile, trying to decide on a name for them can take up the most time and cause the most headaches. To begin with, I try to come up with a name that matches the traits of the character. For a solemn, dignified character, I might mix in elaborate sounds to give off the same impression. If they’re a happy-go-lucky kind of character, I’ll try and give them a catchy short-and-sweet name.
With an ensemble cast spanning over 100 characters, I have to consider how easy it would be for a player to remember each individual name as well. If you have 100 characters with unusual-sounding names, no one’s going to be able to remember them, so I try to pick names that might sound somewhat familiar or be easy to remember. At the same time, however, if you have names that are too ordinary, then you run the risk of losing that heroic edge to your characters.
Don’t you think Noah, Sei, and Melissa all fit under that perfect equilibrium?

A Word from the Team

J-Diary Vol. 3
It’s boiling hot!
We’re really in the dead of summer.
If you’ve been watching the Olympics, you’ve probably noticed how hot it can get in Tokyo. We’ve been getting some world-class temperatures lately—or so it seems at least...
I wanted to start this with something seasonal, but in truth, I’ve been working every day from home with my AC on full blast.
I barely get out of my seat, and I haven’t had a chance to savor the seasons firsthand...
Hey all, it’s been a while—J. Murakami here, currently terrified to see what this month’s electric bill will look like.
Here’s our update on the design for the month.
We’ve inserted the assets created thus far into the game, and we’re at a stage where we can play through it, making balance adjustments as we go.
Since we’re checking everything as we play, it’s a lot easier for us to see what’s going wrong when graphical issues pop up. We’re spending most of our time fixing these at the moment.
We’ll have to fine-tune the assets and decide how we want the game’s visuals to turn out which will be a huge task afterwards.
Normally, this part’s the most fun, but everything needs to be done in parallel, so it can get quite stressful.
There are just so many moving bits to an RPG... It’s been a real reminder of how tough it can be to make one.
I’m in charge of creating the sprites and all I can say is it’s coming along lol. The 3D backgrounds are taking up a lot more time and money than we first anticipated, so we need to sort that out right away, I guess.
As you can see, we’re just stepping up to the plate each day and batting away the issues that come our way. We’re finally starting to breathe some life into our characters in this world we call a game so that’s always exciting!
The teaser video only contained one scene to show the concept of the game and how it would look, which is why we’re ecstatic to see Murakami’s story, world, and characters spring to life.
We appreciate your continued support and hope to meet your expectations!
