Another nice Japanese role playing game will be released in North America in the next few months on PlayStation 3. Fairy Fencer F, a game developed by Compile Heart, will be released in North America on September 23rd.
NeoGaf user Ryuukan has discovered a sales sheet for the game on the Atlus website, which actually confirms the release. The company is apparently going to distribute the game with NISA publishing the game and handling localization.
Some features for the game have also been confirmed through the sales sheet. The game is going to be sold for $39.99 and include a dual langauge option, a feature that fans of role playing games always look forward to.
Several high profile industry veterans have worked on the game, giving it a really unique feel. Nobuo Uematsu of Final Fantasy fame has creatrd the game’s soundtrack together with his band, the Earthbound Papas. Yoshitaka Amano, also of Final Fantasy fame, has worked on the game as a concept artist while Toshiki Inoue, who’s worked on the scripts for the Dragon Ball and Death Note anime, has worked on the game’s script.
Fairy Fencer F also features quite a lot of interesting gameplay features. One of them is a tension gauge during battles that will allow characters to transform and acquire some special powers. Even without actually transforming, the gauge will determine the stats of the characters. When the gauge is low, defense will be lower, while when the gauge is high, attack power will also be higher. This adds a realy interesting strategic element to battles.
Fairy Fencer F is now available in Japan on PlayStation 3. It will launch in North America on September 23rd.
