Solution : (from Bethesda website)
1. Click Start
2. Click “All Programs” (or just Programs, depending on the version of Windows, whether they’re using “classic,” etc.)
3. Go to the ffdshow folder.
4. Click “Audio decoder configuration.”
5. In the left hand pane, click “Info & debug.” This is the second entry in the list.
6. In the right hand pane, near the bottom, find a check box labelled “Don’t use ffdshow in:”
7. Check that box, and in the text box underneath (it lights up when you check the check box), add “fallout3.exe” (don’t include the quotes). If there is already something in that box, put a semi-colon ( ; ) after what’s already there, and fallout3.exe after that. Do NOT use spaces, since ffdshow will think that’s part of the filename. A valid entry would be “explorer.exe;fallout3.exe” (without quotes).
8. Finally, click “Ok” and start Fallout 3.
dal sito dei produttori ma fatto cio ancora nulla allora stavo gettando il gioco dalla finestra compreso il pc quando mi e' venuto in mente di reinstallare i driver nvidia, da premettere che avevo installati gli ultimi i piu aggiornati scaricati in questi giorni di passione (lol) che ho sostituito a quelli vecchi che erano nel cd in dotazione con la scheda se non erro i 169.25......sono andato a ritroso installandoli tutti fino a quando con i 175.16 il gioco e' partito :bananarap
andiamo bene se ogni gioco che esce ha i suoi driver preferiti sto a posto lol
cmq i codec consiglio di installarli ugualmente perche molta gente ha problemi di crash sui dialoghi ed effetti sonori e qualcosa risolvono.....

ok se a qualcuno interessa ho finalmente capito il perche dei problemi che mi dava sto benedetto gioco sembrava che fossero i driver ma il giorno dopo che il gioco mi si e' avviato riacceso il pc ero punto e a capo.....:contromorris:
facendo varie prove installando e reistallando sti caxxo di driver,il gioco ripartiva, poi il giorno seguente sempre solito errore pero notavo che ogni volta che installavo nuovi driver mi veniva disistallato o per lo meno disattivato un programmino della asus che era nel cd della scheda chiamato "gamer osd" che ad ogni riavvio pero veniva puntualmente riattivato.....
ed era proprio quest'ultimo che dava problemi disistallato completamente ho risolto tutto :kappe:
se puo essere di aiuto, probabilmente in molte schede marcate asus, ci potrebbe essere questo tool rimuovetelo almeno x questo gioco:trallalle

In terms of what you can do, there’s a few things I would recommend:
-I would recommend checking to see if you have any Asus software installed (you can check to see this by going into your Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel). If you do, I’d recommend uninstalling it.
-Also, your diagnostic shows you using Windows XP Service Pack 2. I would highly recommend installing the newest Service Pack through Windows Update.
-Another thing I noticed was that you have an ATI Radeon 9550/ X1050 Series. This video card is NOT supported by the game and “There are no plans to include it in future updates.” Asher above has the same issue as you do and it’s highly likely that your video card is giving you the problems that are occurring.
